Former Duke Forward, Nate James, was named the new Duke assistant coach. The move fills the void left when Johnny Dawkins went on to coach Stanford. I like this move. He was a great player and helped Duke reach the National Championship in 2001.

Yet again at 6'6 is he what we need to add a mentor for our "big men?"

Hey its better than a guard, and I bet he's got better post up moves than Wojo.  Plus he won a championship for Coach K, and thats an experience you can't teach/coach.

Great hire Coach K.  Nate was instrumental in the 2001 championship run as his unselfishness in letting Chris Duhon become a starter helped the team reach its goal of a national title.  Sure he's not a true power guy, but a 6'6" SG/SF is better than Wojo as our big man coach.  He may not have been a great college player, but James was a winner on and off the Duke hardwood.  Congratulations Nate on becoming Duke's newest assistant coach.

One thing he is not is a guard and one thing he is  is a winner. Not exactly what I would have liked but not bad.
