You Big Ten fans are morons.  So, you think that having three conferences with more ranked teams than you does not qualify as a 'soft' year for the Big Ten?? That's right, the SEC (6), Big 12 (5), and Big East (5) have more ranked team than your supposedly great Big 10.  While the league is not as soft as the Pac 10 or ACC, it is obviously down.  This doesn't even bring to light the fact that your best team can't prove it on the field in big OOC games.  It doesn't even factor in that Illinois and Michigan State are both overrated in the preseason in large part because there is nobody else in that worthless conference other than OSU that is gauranteed to beat them. That being said, it's probably an average year for the Big 10.  Sure, they have had five or six teams ranked in the Top 25 some years, sometimes as many as seven, but everyone knows they just had those because they didn't have a chance to flop on the field against a good OOC opponent until the bowls.  It is a soft year in the Big Ten.  They are probably the fourth toughest conference from top to bottom, though you could argue they are better overall than the Big East.  They are nowhere near the Big 12 (probably the best overall) or the SEC.

The Big 10 may have been "soft" the last two years but that doesn't make it a historically "soft" conference. Some people talk like the Big 10 has always been overrated and sucked. Just because they didn't have that many really good teams last year doesn't mean the teams were never good, or are never going to be good again. How would SEC fans feel if their conference had two down years and was all of a sudden deemed "soft" and overrated? Wouldn't you stick up for your conference like the Big 10 fans? Just because people are loyal doesn't mean they are morons.

....and you Georgia fans are ignorant hillbillies, what's your point?

It's anything but an "average year" for the Big Ten. The Big Ten has historically been a tough conference that has been down the last few years.

amusing.  the big ten can't win a big game, and yet people still find obscure little statistics to glorify the big ten. talk to me when you can go to a national title without getting blown out on national television.

He is kind of contradictory in his statements.  Ohio State can rebound with a loss to USC even though they have to play his 12, 15, and 23 ranked teams?  Regardless, there shouldn't be any cryers about tOSU's schedule this year if Illinois, Wiscy, Mich. State, possibly Purdue, and long shot scUM crack the top 25 when they play....

Oh yes Illinois who got beat by USC horribly? Only reason they finished the year decent was because they beat OSU. Wiscy is good. Mich ST isn't going to crack the top 25. I'm sorry but I'm not hopping on their bandwagon, only way they will make it is if they get wins out of playing no competion, regardless they would be considered a joke when they would get blown out in their bowl like Illinois and OSU did. Purdue didn't beat a BCS opponent with a winning record all year and they only won one game against a D1 opponent who had a winning record all year and that was their bowl game where they barely escaped Central Michigan, they are a joke. Michigan will be lucky to finish with a winning record.

Illinois...who was a team comprised of mainly freshman and sophomore right Gator?  Give them time.  They pulled quite the W-L swing last year.  Don't be so quick to judge, especially if your team was beaten by a "subpar" Michigan team.
