My friend brought up a very interesting fact about the Vikings. A fact that is almost too big to ignore. It seems that the vikings move in intervals, of say, 10 years or so. If you think back 10 years, you think of the 1998 play-off flop. But, if you look deeper you will find a 15-1 team that, up until this year, held the record for most points in a season. Most of you wont be able to remember back to 1988, or even back to 1978, and very doubtfully, 1968. You dont need to remember back to then,I have done a little research....
1998- Of course, we all remember this year. Black Sunday? Record setting season? Randy Moss's Rookie? 15-1?
1988- 11-5 record, and a play-off birth. We won the first game, but lost in the Divisional Play-offs. Still, a very solid season.
1978- 8-7-1, but still made the play-offs, but had a first round exit. Wasnt the GREATEST season, but we made the play-offs...Very good Season.
1968- Went 8-6 and made the play-offs. Lost in divisional play-offs. Any season when you get to the Divisional Play-offs is a good season.
As you can see, EVERY 10 years, the Vikings have had a successful season, making the play-offs every time. I can see it happening again.
