There is no scouting or gameplanning going into stopping any of these hitting pitchers... While what Owings is doing is remarkable, is anyone studying his swing or evaluating how to pitch to him?  Probably not.

The real question is what Owings could do if given 200+ at bats....  Then he would make a believer out of me...

As far as Hamels, Lowe, they'll be back under the Mendoza line real quick...  Mark my words.

There was an interview done with Brad Ausmus, and he did say that they went over Micah in the meetings and what would need to be done if he did get a pinch hit at bat.  Opposing teams talk about how they will counter him coming into the game, while he would probably project to hit about .280 with 15-20 HR over 300 AB's, he is a legit threat at the plate.

I agree with you as far as Hamels and Lowe go. But, if you dont think other pitchers/coaches are paying attention as to what and what not to do when pitching to Owings,  well, you're wrong.. If you are right, there are a TON of bad coaches/pitchers out there.

This is not a one time thing, or a hot streak for Owings. Everyone knows he can hit..

Would he hit .370 with 30 HR, etc, if he played every day ?? Of course not. However, the guy is the real deal at the plate.  Doing it days you start is one thing.. but, as a pinch hitter ???? How often, Dontrelle Willis aside, do you ever see SP's pinch hit ???
