I'm probably more of Texas fan than you will ever be, but as I have said before, I'm sick of the hype.  The big difference between me vs people like you is that I took off my orange sunglasses a long time ago.  You have got to get realistic.  Based on the facts, it very much looks like Stoops will go 6-3 against MB.   Quit making stupid ass comments based on your heart.  Football message boards are no place for "feelings."  Things don't change and we stay second in the big 12 south because of fans like you.  You go ahead and except average.  Enjoy your Holiday or Alamo bowl next year.

I don't accept average, but you advertise failure.  Your the one that should 'feel' stupid about your comments.  It's not realism, you simply expose a lack of faith.  I'm realistic about the fact that Oklahoma will field a better team this year.  I also had my eyes open last year, did you perhaps watch any college football?  This is an era of upsets in the college game, so don't advertise a win for Stoops 6 months before the game is played.  A real fan IS realistic, they are also faithful.

Someone needs to advertise it.  Why?  We are falling behind.  Faith has nothing to do with anything on a football field.  Preparation and excution do, but first you have to have the talent.

And please don't throw out last year as the norm.  Last year was a fluke.  Probably never happen agin for a long time.  It could be the first year of an era, but you don't know that yet.  Come back after two or three more years in a row of upsets on that scale and make that comment.  Upsets aren't games played where two top ranked programs are on the field and one team is favored by 1 or 2 points and loses.  When two good programs are on the field, anything can happen.  Upsets are when clearly better programs get beat by clearly weaker programs.  Yes, upsets happen.  Just not every year.  Was losing to K-State when favored by 13 an upset or were we beaten by a better team? How about ATM.  The same.  Upset or beaten by a better team?  While your at it, why don't you answer those questions for the previous year since it happened then too.

You better get ready because I have another little advertisement for you.  We are probably going to lose to Oklahoma, Kansas, and at least one maybe two of the Missouri, ATM, TT games.  Things can change pretty fast in college football, but right now that looks like the future for the 08 season.  It doen't matter if I advertise it or not.  It's the way it looks right now.   Nothing would make me happier for MB to shut me up.  Don't hold your breath.

not that it matters to me in the least, but just thought i would point out that stoops is already 6 - 3 against brown.

during the streak of 5, ou was simply the better team.....they played for the nc 3 times in that time period, and twice texas was beaten by around 50 pts.  that's not to say mb wasn't outcoached at all....even he has admitted that.

this past year, i was very happy with the coaches in the ou game.  they didn't call a tight game like they have in the past, they were aggressive.  i've said it before, but the coaches also did a great job of gettitng the team ready to play after a demoralizing loss to kstate.  if charles doesn't fumble going into the endzone, texas is sitting on a 3 game win streak vs ou, and mb is 4-5 against stoops.  this year, for a change, nobody was blaming the loss on mb or gd....they called a good game.  most of the blame was put on charles, which was a big reason why i think he left early.....that and the weak crop of senior rb's in this years draft class.  charles fumbled away the ball and the momentum, and texas lost........so i guess we'll have to start building a new streak this year.

what a stupid comment, "there is no place for feelings on a  football message board". Seriously man. It is football, it is an emotional sport with an emotional fan base, emotion equating to feelings. Besides, Texas and OU are comprised of the best highschool football players from the state of Texas, where Highschool football is king. So in any given year either team can win, because they are both stacked with alot of talent. If you make a prediction this early expect to get ripped for it.

as for the topic, I think the key difference is that Stoops is a better game time coach than Mack. Mack is a wonderful coach who has brought Texas football back to where it belongs, but I get frustrated with some of the calls he makes.

BTW-I am a season ticket hold for UT games. So feel free to call me a homer.

I'm not going to call you a homer.   "Feelings"  was meant about making statement, judgements and having opinions that come from your heart.   All Texas fans want the team to be the best and beat everyone every year, but that's not reality.   You bet feeling and emotions are important, but you still have to think with your head.

The fact is that Bob Stoops is 6-3 against MB.  ( thanks ghost for correcting me.  I thought he was only 5-3 at this point)

To me, that doesn't look like "either team can win" to me.    Right now, it's a f*&king fact that it looks like he will go 7-3.  To me, It looks like Oklahoma is kicking our a$$.   I'm missing the "both teams are loaded with talent" thing.  Then why aren't we 5-5?  Sure anything can happen.  Grades, injuries, and a few other things could change the roster before then and give Texas a good chance to win.   The fact is that right now it looks like Oklahoma is going to be a much better football team than Texas next year.  That's where the prediction comes from.  If you don't agree it looks that way then I'm waisting my time here and there is no use debating any further.

The reason I'm not going to call you a homer is, you are the type of fan that needs to wake up.  I  was right were you are before I moved to California.  About 20 years.  You guys see everything as fine.  The truth is Texas has been average over the past 10 years.  You can't put all your eggs in the 2005 basket.  Great year, no doubt.   For the rest, I always walked away disappointed.  No, I don't expect to win the NC every year, but when you compare our program to Florida, Ohio St., Oklahoma, USC, etc, of the world.  We have not been as successful over the 10 year period.  Are those programs better than Texas?  With our resources, they shouldn't be.

MB has always lost at least one game he was not suppose to lose every year with the exception on one.  Lately it's been two.  Yes upsets happen.  Just not EVERY year.   No way.   Things are starting to look like they are changing, but over the 10 years, it's not like the Big 12 has been a very strong conf.  It's pretty much been Texas and Oklahoma.  Also, our OOC schedule isn't that strong either.  Playing Ohio St. two years was tough, but what about the other 8 years were pretty weak?  So please don't throw the record at me.  Also, I understand the game when it comes to money.  So when it comes to the schedule, I understand why, but it stll doesn't change the fact of the record.

Let me ask you something and the entire board for that matter.  Would Texas have even been to a BCS game yet if VY hadn't come to Texas.  Be honest with yourself.   One man can't do it all, but I have played and watched football for a long time, and that's the closest I have ever seen.   I think if you are really honest with yourself, you'll at least start to see my point.  At this point, I'll take it.  If you don't, then we disagree.

BTW, rip me all you want,  that doesn't bother me at all.  That emotion you talk about, I haven't seen it at UT in quiet a while.  It would be nice to see.  Go for it!

I think you need to step off your "holier than thou I am the College football know it all" pedestal and quit stating things that are fact that are nothing more than your opionin. You have no point, it is your opionin. The fact is they lost by 7 points last year and beat them in 06-after VY was gone-and 05 by a combined 51 points.  So in my opionin it is STUPID to say they will lose this year as factual. You have nothing to back this up. Here is another FACT for you. Texas is the only division 1 team to win 10 games in each of the last 7 years and has a 6-1 record in the last 7 bowl games including 4 straight wins. Not even OU can boast that. I reccomend you stop using your emotions as a means for logic and learn the facts.
