Yeah,...he's like Wes Welker if Wes was 6'3", 217 lbs and could run a 4.49. Jordy is nothing like Wes Welker. Jordy is big, fast and hard to bring down. He challenges every DB and gains lots of yards after contact. He also catches anything within reach. The only thing he has in common with Wes Welker is his skin color. It was a good pick Packer fan. He's Brett Favre in a WR package.

You couldn't have said it better KCWolfe. He is Favre in a WR. A lot of heart. Lays himself on the line for the catch. I suggest you Packers fans look at some of his highlight videos on youtube. Jordy has made some ridiculous one-handed catches. He is a truly amazing player that will automatically improve your already young WR corp.

KCWolfe,

What you said about how Jordy plays is exactly like how Welker plays. Hard to bring down, catches everything, fast, sure Welker isnt that big but he sure catches alot of passes like Jordy does and gains alot of yards also like Jordy, there is no better NFL player to use as an example than Welker.

Welker is and always will be a slot, and compares to Antwaan Randle-El.  Jordy is, at worst, a #2 he is much more similar to Terrell Owens, or T.J. Houshmandzadeh with a bigger frame.  He gets all of the comparison to Welker strictly because of his race and good hands.  Nelson is big, sure-handed, and fast he will be a very successful receiver in the NFL.

Jordy compared to Welker,........hands and skin color are the only common traits. They are nowhere near comparable at the WR position. If you feel Welker is the best comparison, then more power to ya'. But,...if you would get past the color of their skin and look at their playing style and physical traits, you'd see Nelson is a big WR who catches the ball and breaks tackles. Welker, on the other hand, catches the underneath pass and usually ends up diving at someones feet to gain a couple of extra yards. He can't outrun most DB's and he definitely can't overpower them or use a stiff-arm to break free. He is a possession receiver who works well in the NE offense (mainly because of the deep threat with Randy Moss attracting the safety). If I was going to compare Nelson to anybody,....I'd say he was more like Donald Driver. I'd compare him to TO, but Nelson has much better hands, runs sharper routes, and his character is head and shoulders above TO.

You know it's getting kind of rediculous, I cannot find a writer who can manage to compare him to anyone but a white wide receiver.  Today over on SI they are calling him a faster Dwight Clark.  It blows my mind that people doing this job for a living can't use skill sets before race to determine the quality of a player.  It goes the other way as well, why does everyone compare Josh Freeman to Donte Culpepper, when he is much closer to a Ben Rothlesburgur?
