"The punishment that's still down here is one that instead of a returning starter and a guy that should be a starter and labeled a starter, he's going to have to be competing like heck for his job," Miles said. "So there's loss. And he certainly he needs to put himself in a position to come back and compete."

Riiiiight.  This is the problem I have with this whole Perriloux mess.  Everytime Les opens his mouth about it, he makes it look worse.  Everyone knows the suspension was a slap on the wrist and he (R.P.) didn't  lose anything.  He should have just said: " We took care of the issues in house and now our concern is getting R.P. ready to play S.E.C. football."  Seriously, is there a Tiger fan alive or dead that thinks there is "open" competition for the QB1 spot?  Tigers need to circle the wagons on this pipe down and let it all blow over.  Oh.....and hope he doesn't screw up.....AGAIN!

I think that Perriloux will start but the number 2 guy (Hatch or Lee) will get about 25% of the snaps.  He's gotta cover his butt for the next time RP screws up and gets booted.  I personally think we can win without him.

We don't need to do it like were covering something up here.  FACT is Miles knows RP a whole lot better than we do, he has faith in RP and believes he can help the young man.  Miles has yet to lead us in the wrong direction.  Why would he do the wrong thing with RP?

Word is the coaches and his family leaned on RP real heavy after the last incident and he has sworn his loyalty to the team, to Les and to doing the right thing.  As fans all we can do is take his word for it.

Point - As long as LM believes in and stands behind RP and as long as RP is in a Tigers uniform I will trust in him.

Never meant to imply cover up.  I just meant that they should just stop talking about a suspension that carried little or no significance like it was harsh discipline.

I truly hope the kid has had an epiphany Knut.  I love the style of ball he plays and believe he is the best option at QB.  I just don't like his off the feild track record so far.

I couldn't agree with you anymore.  There are a ton of internet rumors and even rumors that went around campus.  I have to believe LM knows the REAL truth and that's why he's still on the team.  LM showed us last year that he doesnt F - around and will boot even a great player if he can't fly straight.

I just don't like his off the feild track record so far.

Have faith Brother!  He's a Tiger and he's got one of the best coaching staffs a player could ask for around him that have faith in him.  If the people that depend on him have faith he'll fly straight, we as fans should be able to do the same.

After seeing how Miles handled the whole "Michigan" job last year, i have very ounce of faith that he is handling this the right way. He will do what's best for LSU and I am on his bandwagon. I wasn't sure what to think his first two years, with all those close calls, and letting games slip away that LSU should have won. But with the class he showed this past season and able to get this team to a NC.

This will be handled correctly. RP may have to "earn" the starting spot, but if he's good enough he will keep it. Miles seems to be letting RP know he's not bigger than the team.

I disagree - we should let Les do the coaching.  When boosters and alumni start "demanding" and interefering programs inevitably run into trouble.  See Arkansas...

OK, now that I'm done laughing, let me ask a question.

What makes you think the boosters and alumni have ANY say so what so ever in LM decisions?  LM has shown over and over again that HE and He only is the only person in charge of this program.  LM has shown he doesn't give a flying F what the media thinks or when they get information.  While he is a fans coach, he could care less what the fans know when the doors are closed.  Finally, the administration has ZERO say so in what he does with this program.  This is why he gets paid the big bucks and this was part of his reason for staying at LSU - complete control.  Don't think for 1 single second anyone outside of Les and his staff have any say so in what he does with his players or this program.  This is a new day at LSU and the days of boosters and alumni trying to call the shots are long gone.  Trust our coach....period!
