The buzz on him is gaining speed this week as it coincides with the announcement of Kevin Love to NBA. We were one of the final 3 schools before he decided to sign with LSU (Kansas was the other). Last week Brian Dohn reported on his blog that he talked to his High School's coach about J'mison Morgan is staying at LSU regardless who's the head coach. However, according to his AAU coach Jazzy Hartwell, J'mison is scheduled to meet with Trent Johnson next Tuesday to ask about a release to his commitment. Keep in mind that LSU has another recruit at Center, Dennis Harris out of Jonesboro which is a drop off compared to J'mison.
The papers at Lawrence, Kansas are reporting the same about J'mison. As a matter of fact, each unsigned Center recruits that we're still involved, Kansas is right there with us. Should the buzz come in light next week, it will be either us or Kansas to land J'mison Morgan. Keep your finger cross guys, J'mison Morgan is the missing piece of 2008 recruiting.

Bruwins, I was wondering the same thing with Love gone and there coaching change. I belive they have to release if he asks for it. Only problem is KU needs a big man too and they have benn recruiting him for a couple years, we got in real late. He would be huge.

Though we were late to recruit J'mison Morgan, but he'll lean to us if he decommitted. Now, he said that he'll make decision in a couple of weeks after talking to Trent Johnson over the phone. Out of LSU commits, he's the only one who's not firmed.

It looked like J'mison will stay with LSU after his meeting with Trent Johnson. He likes what Trent Johnson has to offer him having to coach the Lopez and the Collins twins in the past.

Accidentally created another thread on this topic but as I posted, according to rivals.com and Morgan's AAU coach, Morgan wants out and is looking at UCLA. This was reported as of today, May 5th.

i saw that too, i was just about to post it, you beat me to the punch. this would be great news. its obvious that this team is in desperate need of a big man, any big man. Morgan would come in and start from day 1, and along with the Fab 4 could possibly lead us back to the final 4.

HELL YES!!!!!! It has been confirmed that Morgan has asked for a release from LSU and is hoping to hear back by the end of the week. He also said he is leaning toward UCLA, and I know that we would all welcome him with open arms! Bruwins, any clarification on the rules for this situation? It is my understanding that if LSU grants the release that Morgan can play immediately. If they do not grant the release and he leaves the program then he would have to sit out a year. Am I correct?

damn, bruwin you beat me by a minute. i just read that on the LA Daily News, Jill Painter seems to be covering for Brian. im so pumped right now! We can start Morgan, Gordon, Holiday, Shipp and Moute. Or bring Gordon off the bench. i dont know, if too excited right now to really think it out. in addition it appears that LSU will grant the release allowing him to play right away!

His Airness,
With weak talent pool on college basketball next season, we should be #1 Pre-season ranking and stay that way until the tournament. Before the new FAB5 set foot at Pauley, we'll have 3 returning Final Four starters, Collison, Shipp, and Mbah a Moute. Coming off the bench we'll have Keefe, Roll, and possible Aboya. Even if Aboya decided to go to grad school, with the new development of J'mison Morgan it wouldn't be matter.
Talk about getting so pumped up in May for our Bruins basketball......YES WE ARE !!!!!!
Just like Mel Brooks would say.... "It's good to be a Bruin!!!"

When will we know for sure if this is official? By the end of the week?
I was just debating whether or not to bother entering the Final Four ticket lottery again this year. If not for Windsor being within spitting distance of Detroit, I had almost convinced myself that there was no way that the Bruins would have a chance to get there and that I shouldn't bother.
But now I'm thinking different!
