UCLA just doesn't have a dominant player, one capable of taking over by himself.
Now, that said, if Kevin Love does decide to leave, he will be a very good NBA player. He can shoot, he has the jump hook and a decent amount of moves around the basket. Best of all he can pass, which will keep people honest. That's why Bird was so good in the NBA. If he didn't have that passing ability he would have been an early version of Stojakovich.
So I disagree Love was overmatched. He had 12 points and 9 rebounds. He would have had more but UCLA's guards weren't good enough to get him the ball in the post in the second half. They kept getting pressured out of their sets and Love would have to go to the high post and set screens.
The Memphis front court didn't dominate him. Dorsey was scoreless. Taggert was just OK.
