I am not an insider, so anything I might say is just speculation, but it seems that Mitch was jerked around by Houston Nutt.

You can say that DMac and Felix should be used to best advantage, and I would agree, but if you are a throwing quarterback, and you are recruited by a team knowing your skills and the team also hires your HS coach to implement an offense that uses your skills, I would say you have an expectation of how things ought to go. If Mustain had played those games and not been a winner, that'd be one thing, but he did win.

People in Arkansas complained for years that Houston Nutt was a mediocre coach, and after it was shown without a doubt, some people want to shoot the evidence (Mitch's case) that demonstrates Nutt's incompetence rather than accept that Mitch really didn't have much say in it, and could only vote with his feet. Its obvious from reading the article that Mitch would still rather be in Arkansas playing for UofA than in California fighting for a spot at USC.

I wish Mitch luck in his endeavors, and hope that our new coach can take us to a higher level than Nutt did.
