Good all around win tonight.  Timely hitting, good starting pitching, and good defense...very nice to watch.  Ankiel looks like he is going to turn into a all-star.  I sure hope the Cardinals lock him up long term when it comes time to renew his contract.  Just need to get Glaus going to help the middle of our lineup.  Ludwick being his oldself, get a late start and coming through like he did all of last year.  Duncan better watch out because if Ludwick keeps producing while he is hurt it will be tough to take Luddy out of the lineup.  Great win.  Go Cards!!!

Dont be suprised if McClellan rises up to the setup man spot this year just like Wainwright did in the 06 season. I cant wait till this guy becomes a starter in the future. The bullpen is the right spot for him now though. I really like Ron Villone. He is capable of facing more than 1 batter like today but he is the matchup lefty on the team for right now.

So far our starters have 10 IP, 1 ER, vs. one of the best lineups in baseball. Hopefully Brad can keep this up tomm. Hopefully we are back to the power surge days in the middle of the order Pujols, Glaus, Ank, Lud, and Molina can all take you deep. I am not worried about Glaus but we should consider batting Ank 4 and Glaus 5 on most nights if Rick keeps hitting like this.

Please give Barton a start! I wanna see what he can do!!!

Big win today, lets finish off this series thurs. with a W!

I'm honestly surprised TLR hasn't gone with Albert-Ankiel-Glaus-Duncan as his lineup yet... he's always been known to go righty-lefty-righty-etc... in an attempt to stop the opposing manager from being able to bring in one guy to face a string of lefties or righties late in the game.

Obviously, that's only going to be successful against RHPs until Duncan shows he can hit LHP, but until then, Ludwick showed tonight that he can hit. This team just has so much potential in the OF - it'll be fun to see how they all turn out.

I'm hoping this kind of pitching holds up... nothing like lights out pitching to shut up all of the "professional sports writers" who picked the Cubbies and Brewers because of their "amazing pitching." Even if this team doesn't win this year, the Cardinals will be dominant for years to come.
