This is ridiculous.  The KID is a Junior in HIGH SCHOOL and just because he wants to be a Troy-boy he is now automatically a Heisman Hopeful?   This farcical attitude must stop.  Here's a novel concept....how about letting an athlete EARN an award on the field rather than some P.R. weasel trying to utilize their Svengali powers to achieve their desired outcome.   I still believe it was an abomination that Troy Smith won because the idiots at ESPN kept harping on a SINGLE PLAY as a "Heisman Moment".   They tried to do the same thing for Ryan last year.   In my mind, the legitimacy of the Heisman has been undermined and reduced to just another meaningless popularity contest that more accurately reflects the effectiveness of the Media Circus Hoopla Machina than a prestigious award to honor the Most Oustanding Football Player in College Football.

i agree 110%, this article is a bunch of BS, basically this article is just your typical white liberal media self-promoting the perfect socal family like this is some episode of beverly hills 90210, who cares what car his dad drives, who cares what his parents look like or that his pops played polo, like i give a Rats A.ss. Dodd just resign your position. Also whats the point of Coach Carroll signing this kid as a junior, what if he gets hurt his senior year and turns out to be a bust. im sick of the media hyping these kids up too much, already comparing him to elway? come on man, you gotta come harder than that, also ever heard of Ron Pawlus? Todd Marinovich?

I agree WizArtist lets not let the talk win the award for him, lets see him do it on his own.

Typical Dodd stuff - this exploitation of 'the process.'
