How did Memphis not earn it?  Two years ago, they (the tigers) had to play a lower seeded UCLA in Oakland.  Last year a lower seeded A and M in San Antone.  This year its a lower seeded Texas in Houston.  Memphis has been to two straight elite eights.  These arent first or second round games im speaking of.  Im talking 1-2,2-3,1-2, matchups in the sweet sixteen and elite eight, respectively.  Its almost laughable because it happens every year to the same teams.  The lower seed ends up with a decided home court advantage.  So i agree with Coach Pitino.  I have the utmost respect for NC and their coach.   However,  maybe NC should play the game at freedom hall for the sake of fairness.  After all, if they are the best, it shouldnt matter where the game is played.  Right?

The only thing that I'm hearing here is a bunch of boohooing!!  Would we be talking about this if Louisville was the #1 seed and playing at Freedom Hall? Pitino is a self-centered cry baby.

This is such a non-issue.  What goes around comes around, it all evens out in the long run.

I can remember many years when North Carolina had to play on hostile courts in the NCAA tournament despite high seedings.  In 1985, for example, they were the #2 seed in the Southeast Regional, and they had to play Notre Dame, the #7 seed, on NOTRE DAME'S HOME FLOOR.

Not just near Notre Dame, not 142 miles from Notre Dame (as Chapel Hill is 142 miles from Charlotte), but on the actual home floor of Notre Dame.  It was a home game for Notre Dame, despite the fact they were a much lower seeded team.

So stop all the whining and boo-hooing.  It's just the way things work out sometimes.  UNC like all other schools has been on the end of the equation, too.

It all evens out huh! North Carolina is 22-1 in NCAA Tournament games in NC. I dont even know what Duke's record in NC is? I bet it s just as good NO ADVANTAGE HUH?

The fans dont give a flip what the NCAA does to make its regular season almost a non factor, or what teams play a Conference tournament.

All they care about, is the playing field fair in the championship tourney. 22-1 in home games isn't fair or competative.
