Tiger Woods and Bubba Watson complain because someone 'made a noise' or 'clicked a camera during my downswing."  I golf myself but these guys are carrying it way too far.   You've got 20,000 fans on the course and you'd better get used to someone yelling out 'YOU DA MAN' or clicking a fricking camera.

College basketball players are asked to shout clutch free throws with crowds yelling and waving things behind the backboard.  Major league baseball players have to hit a 95 mile per hour fastball while someone's calling them bums.  I've never seen a visiting crowd go silent for an opposing placekicker's game winning field goal attempt.

I'm not saying that people should deliberately make noises to annoy golfers.  After all it is a gentleman's game.  But for Tiger to be throwing F bombs and Watson not shaking the hand of his playing companion, it's not just bush league, it's amazing.

Yeah, you have a point about golfers character these days, not quite the same as it was during the Jack, Arnie, and Gary era.   Those guys wanted to beat the pants off of you and each other, but they were cordial to the crowd and when the match was over, it was done. No hard feelings.   Too bad other than Phil or Boo there are not many crowd favorites that can take it in stride.

However, this is not like the other sports where cheering is encouraged during a shot and part of the game.   Those club head speeds are moving over 120mph and to twirl the motion incorrectly can cost you a lot of $$$, not to mention back trouble and a PGA title.  I really don't get Tigre's F bombs.   He's already a legend in this game and a fit of anger at the wrong time will cost him dearly.   Bubba better just plain focus on his putter and put the childish crap away.

I'd say that I can understand their pain. Quite should be kept for precision events.

But, I agree with you.... They shouldn't be dropping swears, etc.

There are times for that. Not on the green!
