Well, it looks like Nathan Haynes has been picked up by the Tampa Bay DevilRays.  I was kinda looking forward to seeing what this kid could become.  The speed was definitely there, and Joe Maddon definitely knows his old team, as well as where the talent was at.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Rocco Baldelli on the 60-day disabled list Friday and filled his roster spot by claiming outfielder Nathan Haynes off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.

Yeah, Haynes was out of options and the Angels have a loaded outfield, so they had to cut him loose. He's not really a kid, though...I think he's like 27 or 28...just a journeyman/career minor leaguer. He's a good 4th outfielder and can come off the bench to pich hit or run...a valuable guy that the Halos already had plenty of. I wish him well in Tampa with Maddon and the Rays.

I'm glad to see that Nathan Haynes will get to play every day, I wonder if Rocco Baldelli will ever play a full season they heave been talking about how much potential this Rays prospect has when him an Carl Crawford came up around the same time but the best of luck to Nathan Haynes playing every day and to the Rays hopefully not coming in last beating the Orioles.

Although Nathan Haynes did show some upside, I don't think it ever would have been with the Angels.  They are so fully loaded with outfield talent that he would have been wasted.  From his perspective, this had to be a good move, at least the Devil Rays have an immediate use for him and he's at that breakout age.
