I would love to see them take a shot at Giles, he would come very cheap, and if he could return to his early form that could be a huge benefit. I know he has sucked the last two years but before that he had great numbers for a second baseman. its going to be a platoon system this year anyway why not take a chance, nothing to lose. I really dont want to see uribe out there.

I'd take Uribe any day of the week and twice on sunday over Marcus Giles. I would also take Ramirez over him and Richar too. Marcus Giles in my opinion is a has been. Most likely was a steroid guy who's numbers fell off when he was no longer able to do them. Maybe if we could find him some HGH we could take a look at him-but not otherwise.

Hey dazed. It's not so much that Giles wouldn't come cheap, he wouldn't take a backup position on Rockies team that I think gave him the best chance to rebound. Last week it was said that he probably would not accept a trip to AAA.

So it seems more that the only shot he'll take is with a big league team in a starting role. A little to demanding for someone who played like crap the last two years.

Giles numbers have been on decline for 4 straight seasons.   I'd think that Ramirez and Richar would put up better numbers than Giles could at this point of his career.

I would have to agree.  I think Juan Uribe is a better fit for us with Ramierz and Pablo Ozuna also getting some time at 2nd.  I doubt Kenny will even take a shot at Giles.  The think I am most wanting to see is how Brian Anderson does when it counts this season.

I think the young guys need a shot, like Ramirez and Richar, especially since the core of our team is vets.  If we don't develop young guys, our whole team will be over the hill in a few years.   I don't think MAAAAAArcus is the answer ("Boomerang" anyone ? )
