when he gets caught for something a little worse than drinking then i may be ready to say let him go
You and I definitely have a difference of opinion when it comes to underage drinking, most people do, but it's not like he was caught at a frat party out in Lexington. He, himself, had two coolers of beer, wide open, in the middle of campus. That's just brazen stupidity.
Is underage drinking the worst crime ever? It can be, but in most cases no. Regardless, it's a law, and if you're going to represent a university, you don't get yourself arrested right in the middle of campus.
Something that's all too often ignored in our society is a person's word. Just like any student at USC, when Garcia signed his admissions paperwork, he agreed to be a law abiding citizen while at USC. It may not have been written explicitly, but in essence, he gave his word to not engage in underage drinking. I know, probably 70-80% of all college students break their word, but that doesn't make it right.
