Let the kid go! He has had his three strikes now lets let him go and move on. He doesn't get it. The other two quarterbacks don't get in trouble. They show up to practice and do what they need to do. But not Mr.Gracia who thinks he is the seond coming of Taneyhill with his long hair. South Carolina has to show some type of standard for its athletics. Three times he has run ins with the law. Iguess he is getting ready for the NFL. Starting young and not even a snap. I hope he gets himself right and starts making the right decisions. He may turn into another USC troublemaker. Like Summers and Watson.

Agreed

It seemed as though all of this was behind us with the resignation of Holtz (who never met a future convict he didn't like).  And while it seems that Spurrier is harsher in his punishing of atheletes, he still seems to be getting bad characters.

In the case of Garcia, I completely understood what happened last year.  The kid was coming from a town where everyone thought he was God's gift to the world (see Varsity Blues), then he shows up at Carolina and finds out that that s*** won't fly.

Lesson Learned...Or So We Thought.

Me - "Dad, why couldn't you have gone to a school that is actually good in SOMETHING?"

My Father - "There's always Equestrian and Women's Track"

its not like the kid held up a bank. he is a college student. if you havent heard sometimes college students drink and sometimes they make stupid decisions but dont forget they are teenagers. he should be punished but let it fit the crime. i think a couple of weeks without television seems fair as long as he performs on the field. were not recruiting presidents were recruiting football players.  when he gets caught for something a little worse than drinking then i may be ready to say let him go

You and I definitely have a difference of opinion when it comes to underage drinking, most people do, but it's not like he was caught at a frat party out in Lexington.  He, himself, had two coolers of beer, wide open, in the middle of campus.  That's just brazen stupidity.

Is underage drinking the worst crime ever?  It can be, but in most cases no.  Regardless, it's a law, and if you're going to represent a university, you don't get yourself arrested right in the middle of campus.

Something that's all too often ignored in our society is a person's word.  Just like any student at USC, when Garcia signed his admissions paperwork, he agreed to be a law abiding citizen while at USC.  It may not have been written explicitly, but in essence, he gave his word to not engage in underage drinking.  I know, probably 70-80% of all college students break their word, but that doesn't make it right.
