Canadians our neighbors and enemies

They are our nieghbors because if their country (along with Mexico) had any real value to the U.S we would make them a state, in the union. We got as far as Maine and said "who in the hell would live in this cold weather lets give it  to the Brits and the French"

BTW there is no such thing as FREE HEALTHCARE

The U.S. tried to annex Canada for a long time...but could not do it. The territory is large but not much is there...some really good natural resources though (timber).

As far as the free healthcare....if it was so good why do rich people and the leader of Canada come to the United States when they are sick? Because the capitalist idea really makes medicine better. The competition and the high prices keep the technology and medical education and ideas at the most sophisticated.

Canada...oh yeah...they have 2 W.S. championships from the Blue Jays...thats aboot it.

They've got a lot more resources there than timber ... coal, oil, etc.

Our unwillingness to annex Canada means two things - we're about as dumb as the chief executive of Western Union who turned down the patent to the telephone ...

and two: Canada probably won't be saddled with an imminent economic depression ... unlike ANOTHER country I know.
