thought you meant with Yankee fans and I was gonna say that I haven't seen that many....and based on my sampling of restaurants in NY and Philly....I am surprised to say that, with the exception of pizza, Philly wins....
havent eaten in enough Philly restaurants to even argue but there are some damn good steak houses in the NYC area. Mortons, Peter Lugers, Sparks, etc.

gotten lucky so far in Philly....
thats cool. when I moved to NJ from NYC a few years ago I had worse luck. A few good places but on the whole, the food sucks. Chinese, japanese, italian, thai, pizza. Mostly all bad. Finally got a good bagel place because a guy from NYC opened one up in my town.

This just in:  4 Irishmen Red Sox fans jumped soxkillaz at his icecream stand and slammed his head repeatedly in the freezer door.  Pictures at 11.

lol...thats funny. for the first few months I had to resort to dominos. A decent pizza place opened up since then though. But nothing like Brooklyn NY pizza. In-laws live in Tampa. Every place Ive gone to down there has been pretty bad.

I like finding small places that not everyone knows about but have amazing food

Its exactly what makes NYC restaraunts amazing, the hidden gems....Ive lived in the city for 10 years, Trust me, there are more hidden gems in this city than anywhere else in the world....It seems you are getting sucked into the tourist trap places........Less time in Times Square and more times on the side streets of the West Village and Chelsea, Soho, etc...

Give me some good ideas on where to look next time I'm in Manhattan...

List is endless, however:

Elephant - Houston and 1st avenue.....Small, uncomfortable, loud, but fun atmosphere, Best Thai food I ever had.........

Lupa - Leroy Street - Mario Batalis' first and best restaraunt....Maybe the best Italian in the city........

Blue Ribbon Sushi (Mcdougald Street)

Sushi Samba (Park Ave and 6th Avenue locals) - My 2 favorite Sushi places in the city......

Flor De Sol - (Greenwich Street) - Best Spanish Ive had in the city....Live Music, great Sangria, good times

Corner Bistro - (West Village) - Best $6 burger you will ever have....Best burger in the city in an "Irish Pub" atmosphere....Burger and a beer place for $10, cant beat it....

Wolfgans, Sparks - Best Steakhouses, (Peter Lugers in Williamsburg, best in the world)

Little Owl - West Village, awesome "American" food....Impossible to get a table.......Ditto for Blue Hill in the Wv
