The Kansas City Royals traded first baseman/outfielder Justin Huber to the San Diego Padres in exchange for a player to be named.
Huber, 25, has made brief appearances in the Majors with the Royals the past three seasons after being acquired from the New York Mets on July 30, 2004.

Hate to see him go.  I think he could have been really good, but where would he fit into this ballclub?  At least he'll get more of a chance to play in San Diego.  Good Luck Justin!

Personally, I would have rather traded DeJesus, put Gathright in center, and used Huber as the 4th outfielder, but that's just my opinion.

We wouldn't trade DDJ for "a player to be named later".  It would have to be someone that would be good for years to come, not some throw-in player.

I agree.  The Royals were not going to trade Dejesus for some chump.  Dejesus has been a good ballplayer, not great, but better than anything else the Royals have had in the outfield since Beltran, Damon and Dye.  As much as I liked Huber, he didn't have a spot with the current Royals.  I wish him well!
