This guy is an amazing athlete-- I fully expect him to step in for a team on day 1 and be able to contribute.  I know the knock on him lately has been all this injury stuff but they weren't injuries that will hinder his ability to play for the rest of his career.

I don't see him falling out of the top 5 picks-- he's just too good to pass on!

What do you guys think?

If anything, playing through the injuries only makes me like this guy more. Being an All-American while slowed by injuries? Let me get this guy healthy and see what he can do. Better yet, I know that he won't take time off for little nagging injuries. He's not afraid to play hurt, and I think that's a bonus.

He could fall out of the top 5, but only because of team needs. Miami needs everything, so they could very well take one of the Longs. Rams need O-line help so they could take Jake Long if Miami doesn't. Atlanta needs a quarterback more than anything so they might take Ryan. Draft picks are just too unpredictable. Not to mention some analysts have a higher grade on Ellis for some reason.

He seems as though he's worthy of a top 5 selection, but hey, Brady Quinn was supposed to be too

What!?  The Raiders would pass him up?  After Sapp just retired.  Raiders take him at 4 if he's still there.

I live within half an hour of the center of the LSUniverse, and have heard very little other than "Glenn Dorsey is the greatest defensive lineman in the history of lines!" for...has it really only been 3 years?!?  Seems like an eternity.  Anyway, the great thing about him is his pursuit and lateral movement.  His angles on tackles, and surety of tackles, are phenomenal.  He looks like a friggin' huge middle linebacker out there sometimes.

I hope I've made it clear that I think he would be a fantastic run stopper in a 4-3 defense; or at least stressed his strength sufficiently to say what I'm about to...
As far as pass rushing goes, his highlight reel of sacks are centered around stunts, or breakdowns in protection.  He really needs to work on beating dedicated blockers, and--not that I'm saying it's something everyone else beats--double-teams shut him down entirely.  And, as much as is made of his size and strength, he's really more of a finesse lineman.

Basically, what I'm saying is that whatever team gets him must use him as part of a cohesive unit.  He had one of the nation's best defenses around him...it was not a top defense because of him.

Although they cant afford him I think the Raiders will draft him at number 4, that is if the Long's get drafted first. I watched his work out, damn this guy is a monster.

The guy is an animal.  I was watching his drills on nfl.com and he looks like a bear.  He ight be injury prone but if he is healthy he will excel in a 4-3 scheme.  I don't think he would be as effective in the 3-4 but most d-linemen aren't.  He is a penetrating defensive linemen who will draw double teams every play.  He will free up defensive ends on the outside allowing for a nasty pass rush.  Oakland should pick him up to compliment their nasty secondary.  He won't have as much of an impact in Atlanta but I seee him going to one of these two teams.  The Longs will probably 1 and 2 overall.

Dorsey #7 to New England?   Wow.  I got to imagine this guy is not going to last that long.
