Just another bad move made by the Marlins in recent days just like when they let Jose Castillo go for basically nothing.

Im a huge tiger fan i got season tickets and what not and I was just wondering about the players you got in that monster deal.  I am sure you know how we feel but I was just wondering what the Marlins fans thought.  Maybin will be good but Cabrera good, prolly not.  Miller could be a stud but dont look over the catcher you got.  Mike Rabelo is solid.  Give him  few years and he may be your starting catcher.  Its not often you get a switch hitting catcher that can play the field nicely.  Thanks for any updates on our old Tigers.

PoppNFresh, welcome to the Marlins Message Board... I had the luxury to meet Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo at Marlins Fan Fest... All reports are that they can be great, impact players for us this year and in the future, but I also got to experience that they were even better people as well.

this move will give the maybin time to refine his hitting and mature

I have spoken to Marlins beat writers from newspapers around the state and they said the same thing I said about this situation: The best way to groom Cameron Maybin would have been right here at the MLB level, not by sending him down to the Minors and hurting this team depth wise and talent wise.

They did this with Alejandro De Aza last season even after he got injured and we were left having to platoon with CF the entire season and that hurt his development, it also created a void at that position of which really wasn't necessary.

Both Cameron Maybin and Alejandro De Aza bring speed, good contact hitters; pop in their bats, good runners on the basepaths which means they can steal bases.... And defensively can cover center field, the most important position on the field better than anyone else on the roster.

With Maybin gone, the best thing for the Marlins to do is make De Aza the starter and platoon him with Cody Ross if healthy, but for sure for the sake of this team both defensively and offensively... De Aza has to be the guy, hands down.

Hey thanks for the feedback guys.  I think the Marlins are doing whats right for Maybin right now.  The kid is only 20 and to throw him in with the piranhas would be tough.  Double A is a great place for him and hopefully he will be your full time CF within a couple of years.  I just hope the Marlins dont give him up when he is 24 or 25.  You look at the Tigers roster, and there are at least 6 or 7 players from the Marlins club.  I think it has to do with the ties Dombrowski has with the Florida organization.  Pudge,, Sheff, Renterria, Miggy, D train, Jonesy for a season i think.  Im sure there are more but good luck this season and I will have fun chatting with you guys this season.  Tigers-Marlins in October?

PoppNFresh, you are welcomed here anytime... As for the Tigers-Marlins in October... I would say that is more realistic maybe october of 2011, when we are in our new home. How you like that one!
