I'm sure there are several factors invovled in why UGA is getting so much love int he media. One of the factors does have to do with he fact that they are in the SEC, the SEC was viewed as one of the strngest conference, if not hte strongest, last season. Plus, since they were on a roll at the end (remember, in CFB if you put a huge streak together you are automatically one of the best teams) they were perceived as the team to beat in the SEC.
As far as why "they are better than OSU", it's as simple as OSU lost in the NC game. Since they lost, any of the top teams that won their bowl game will boast their program as being better. Had OSU beat LSU, everyone would have been talkin about hos UGA was more deserving than LSU, they are a better team than LSU.......

Being an SEC guy and die hard Gator, I see why the love for UGA but wonder about the "disrespect" for tOSU.
UGA returns a greet deal of GOOD players and have had a heck of a recruiting class. They have a brutal schedule, and if they run the table, there will be no doubt that they are the best in the NCAA.
Conversely, tOSU returns a ton of great players, and I maintain, they will be headed to their 3rd straight trip to the title game.
UGA must get buy Auburn, LSU, and Florida....not an easy feat.
tOSU is challenged early at USC.
But that's why the play the games.
As far as I'm concerned, the big 3 to watch are tOSU, UGA, and of course, The GATORS!!

good points, again I believe Georgia is a team to be reckoned with this year but trying to figure out with all the hate for OSU why all the love for Georgia, both played weak OOC last year, Georgia had 2 losses one to a good team one to an average team, and they are returning the core of their players just as OSU. So I guess just curious as to why people wanna bash OSU about getting to another national title, but Georgia is so much better this coming year? I dont know, good points so far though, but both of you guys dont seem to hate on OSU as much as the avergae SEC fans

WHAT???? We played Oklahoma State, Troy, and Georgia Tech. OSU played Akron, Bowling Green and such. That may be the stupidest thing I've ever heard on this board.

again calm down bookdawg, Oklahoma St Troy and GT certainly is better than OSU's ooc LAST YEAR but is nothing to write home about. If you read the original post I wasnt trying to say OSU is better and all that jazz, just trying to figure out wh yal lthe love for georgia, again if you read it i think Georgia is solid also. But last year you got blown out by Tenn and lost early in the season to a mediocre SC team. I never said the schedule was weak just OOC, but you cant control conference schedule so thats kind of a moot point. SO take it easy and read the whole post.

what i am tryign to say is peopel scough at OSU even though they are returning basically the same team that made it to the NC game last year. This year they play at USC but people still say they have no shot and blah blah blah and if they do make it they will get blown out again by a SEC team which very may well happen. Then people say well its al lthe same players that got beat by LSU, but if thats the case Georgia is returning the same team that lost to SC and got beat bad by Tenn... so why do they get a free pass for that?

You didn't hammer FLorida and Tebow was also hurt, not an excuse for losing but I hate when UGA fans act like they are already better than UF for beating them 1 year when we were devastated with injuries.

You have to get young players time to gel and find their role. Its much different to compare a team at the beginning of a season to another team at the end of a season. OSU lost late, when their young players should've been in a groove.
I dunno about Georgia getting all the love. I mean OSU's and UGA's record since 2001 are almost identical. Besides the NC's that OSU has walked into.

This is the kind of stuff you get with these guys. OSU "walked" into the last three N.C. games. I guess ONE loss in three seasons is "walking in" huh? LMAO! They don't use common sense. It's not in their blood to do so!
So they have a resume of:
- Lost by 21 to UT
- Lost to 6-6 SC
- Only beat the 11th placed team in the SEC (Vandy) by 3pts
- Only beat 7-6 Bama by 3pts
- Proved NOTHING by beating the WAC chumps...I mean champs in their bowl game (the same WAC chumps who nearly lost to the last last placed team in the Pac 10 in their final game of the regular season.
And try to point out that they beat (7-6) Ga Tech & (7-6) OK St out of conference, like that's supposed to be impressive.
They talk about how strong they finished despite the fact that only two of the teams they played were worth a crap in the second half of the season:
Auburn who finished the season with 4 losses including Miss St and USF
&
FL who finished the season with 4 losses including a Michigan team that turned the ball over 3 times inside the 5yd line
and the rest were Vandy, Troy, UK, and Hawaii.
That's the logic you get when asking about all the hype surrounding UGA. Not real convincing is it?
