Bringing in Pacman Jones couldn't hurt any team, especially if he's willing to take less money to play there. The Cowboys have nothing to lose in this situation, they give up a second day pick for a guy who was drafted 6th overall and has unbelievable talent as a corner and as a return man. He isn't know for being trouble in the locker room only a guy who can't stay out of trouble off the field. He plays hard and best of all is only 24 years old so if he stays out of trouble he can be a quality starter for the next 6 to 8 years. Why not take a risk and trade for him, if he gets in trouble again, the league will suspend him, the Cowboys won't have to pay him so the money wouldn't be an issue and at the most they lose out on a 5th or 6th round pick, who isn't even a guy that will definitely make the team. I say go for it.

I will give you a pass due to your avatar! This could most certainly hurt the any organization. Just ask any Bengals fan if they think that character issues can affect the performance of your team. The Bengals are still trying to recover on the field from all the character issues that stunted their progress a few years ago. This guy has little character, that will transfer over to how he treats his teammates, coaches, and his work ethic in general. If his behavior continues the community will be affected as well. This could have a huge negative impact on the team unless Jones has made some miraculous transformation.

Gotta agree with Steelerfan here... character issues can kill a team.  And being undisciplined hurt them last year and now they have "character" issues... after the Jessica Simpson debacle and already having discipline issues yeah I can see this working.  I can tell you they won't get any further then they did this year... if that.  Teams are getting better they are not Pac Man Jones won't put them over the top and he can just hurt any team chemistry they have... stupid move.

How is it a good move?  I know he is talented and all, but he is too much of a risk to take on.  What makes you Cowboys fans think he is going to change?  He has been arrested six times, cannot stay out of trouble even during the suspension, and cannot seem to keep out of strip clubs and cause trouble there.  And if he goes to Dallas, it is like playing for the NY Yankees of football and the media would be all over every incident he has.  It would be a total distraction to the team; look at the Romo-Jessica  Simpson relationship and their trip to Cabo during the bye week in the playoffs.  As a Giants fan, I can definitely say it hurt them.  He also is accused of shooting a man leaving him paralyzed from the waste down.  Guess where that happened: a strip club.  He is a disaster waiting to happen and he has not done anything to make Goodell want to reinstate him for next season.  He may not even play and if he does, it is a travesty.  Just b/c he is a pro athlete, it does not mean you can get away with so many crimes.  He should not be playing and you are right; issues on character definitely distract the team.  Look at TO:  After the Eagles lost the Super Bowl, he blamed McNabb and complained he did not get paid enough and his actions affected them the entire season after.  He has been quiet in Big D b/c they have been winning, but after 2 bad playoff losses and his crying like a little baby after the loss to the Giants, he may be a ticking time bomb ready to go off again.  And Tank Johnson may have been signed and has not been in trouble since, but he was arrested for DUI, which is not even close to shooting someone and paralyzing them and he also does not find himself in constant trouble with the law at strip joints.  Once you are a criminal, you're always a criminal.  He would just be a constant distraction to the team, especially one that has constant media coverage like the Cowboys.

its funny how people talk about players character and all they know is second hand information from news outlets trying to sell a newspaper or advertising slots.  you dont know anything about pacman.  one thing i do know is he is a hell of a football player.  thecowboys have added t. o. and tank.  both supposedly character problems who have performed exceptionally and have had no additional issues.  even if pacman did everything that has been reported he has served his suspension and deserves to earn a living if someone is willing to employ him.  cant wait to see pacman with a blue star on his helmet.

I absolutely agree Cowboyroyal. All these other people posting here seem to either seem to just be cowboy haters or think that Pac man is a complete thug that doesn't deserve any more chances. And that no one on their respective teams ever screw up or sign screwed up players. The one thing Jerry has done in past years is create a great support system for his players headed by Calvin Hill. So when guys like Tank Johnson join the team they know they are supported by the team but also held responsable for their actions. Pac man would be given a short leash. And to all those hating on TO in this thread grow up. The guy can be a pain in the butt at times, however so far he has been an amazing player and has helped Tony Romo become one of the best QB's in the NFL. And to all those pointing out T, Romo cannot seem to win a playoff game. If I remember right untill this year neither had Eli Manning. So Giants fans get off your high horse. Because the Giants are proof that shit luck is as important in this league as anything else.

As long as Pacman performs I can care less about what a player does off the field its really nobody business but there's.  Schamzel answer me this dallas was the most peanlized when Bill was there to so I guess Wade got those coattails to lets see 10-6,6-10,9-7,9-7 that Bill record with this same cast of characters.  and Mr softy is 13-3 Dallas lost to the Giants cause they left plays on the field; some of those penalites was BS but whateva; and its never been Jerrys job to sign choir boys.

What you're not taking into account is that Jerry Jones will not put up with any bull sh.it from a player. If any player is hurting the integrity of the locker room, there's no doubt he will cut him.

Does anybody remember Quincy Carter? Starting quarterback one day, looking for a job the next.

Jerry Jones takes smart chances that he makes work. Has Tank Johnson been in trouble since he's been here? T.O. hasn't been a problem, we actually pay him. Jerry Jones will talk some sense into Pacman and  help him realize it's his last shot at being able to afford to "make it rain."

All this will do is help Dallas max out its national televised games again and thats what Jerry wants.
