Keep him in the bullpen only if the Yankees are able to pull off a trade for Rich Harden or sign C.C. Sabathia in free-agency. Also, Francisco Rodriguez will hit free-agency at the same time too, so if the Yankees trade for Harden and sign F-Rod, along with Mark Teixeira, now they have all the tools to have a dangerous team all-around. F-Rod would be the new closer after Mariano retires and Chamberlain would be a bona-fide number 1 or 2 starter in the rotation with Phillip Hughes, Ian Kennedy, Chien-Ming Wang, and Andy Pettitte. Mike Mussina likely will retire after this year if New York wins the World Series (which they have as good chance as anyone to win it). If Chamberlain is moved to the rotation, he should trim himself down 15 or 20 pounds, less pressure on his lower-back and knees, also would benefit him in endurance in scorching-hot games and over the course of 30 starts+ for years. He has the make-up to be another Mike Scott or Dwight Gooden, figures to be something special Joba Chamberlain.
