Now that Michigan has no QB, I think we can add another Win this year to our record. If people dont know Pryor picked OSU. I just want to know how everyone feels about this game now. Before this I thought ND had a 40% chance I will now say the Irish should have a 70% chance. Who will be the QB. They have a 3 star QB in David Cone ranked 23rd QB in that class. I thought ND would go 8-4 now I am leaning towards 9-3. This is a big lose for Michigan. Big gain for ND. I think Michigan is now a .500 team. Cant wait for Spring Ball.

Poor Guy, I don't want to rain on your parade, but I don't know a single winning coach that takes any game for granted. To say that Michigan is "done" is to invite disaster. Likewise, to give up on any game is not a winning attitude. Let's root for our teams, and hope for the best.
Good luck to you, Poor Guy, and to all the other Notre Dame faithful.

Michigan is still a big rival. This year the game is in South Bend which hopefully give ND the edge. Not getting Pryor won't really hurt Michigan, I think Coach Rodriquez will hurt. Michigan is a power football team that now has to learn a new system. Without experience at QB, that will be there down fall. I love to watch Michigan suffer!!!!
GO IRISH!!!
9-3 in 08 sound fantastic...........especially if ND gets a bowl win!!

I don;t know why ND is ripping Michigan apart because of one QB. SO WHAT if U of M got him anyways? I mean, look at Jimmy Clausen in his first year. He went NO WHERE.
Hey, I'm an ND fan for life, but I'm also realistic. Okay, congrats to Ohio state. But now they'll win the BCS Championship? Name at least 3 freshmen QBs that went to a BCS bowl game and won. If not, give me two. And tell me if they're known today.
Okay, Pryor is a good asset, and in the LONG RUN, Michigan will get hurt. But Coach Rod. will be able to handle it. WVU isn't really a powerhouse of football, and Rod got them there. I think he'll do fine.
Plus, UM does well in recruiting every year. One year on the down side doesn't mean that next year won't.. UM will rise again, just like ND will.
But MICH isn't done. They're just waiting for the right time to pounce.
Teen out.

Believe me, I LOATHE saying this, but I think its a bit premature to call Michigan "done." This is still Michigan we're talking about. A team that has top 15 recuiting classes virtually every year. I admit, the QB position for that school is looking VERY murky for the upcoming year, but that doesn't mean they don't have talent everywhere else. Plus, I'd say Rich Rod has been a pretty decent coach so far in his career, so who's to say he doesn't learn to adapt his offense until he gets the kind of QB he wants in there, much like Urban Meyer did a couple years ago?
I hate saying anything remotely positive about that school, and I admit that w/o Pryor things definitely look a lot more positive for ND's showdown with them next season. But after a 3-9 year, I don't think one recruit, no matter how valuable to the team & even a quarterback, makes any game against a program the caliber of Michigan a 7-3 chance of victory.
I don't mean to be a pessimist, and I'm not pessimistic about next season in general, but Michigan will still be a difficult test for the Irish next season. Not saying they can't win the game, but definitely not a lock.

You guys are right on. Never take beating Michigan for granted, and don't take them beating you for granted. In the end, the game will be won on the field by the players, who should be helped by their coaches. Rodriguez is top shelf.

Straight- I agree we shouldnt take a win over Mich for granted. I think Mich will be ok, but I think they will have a down year. If you got Pryor you guys would of been set. I think Mich will be ok next year. I just like my chances for ND now. I just cant see Mich playing good this year. They lost alot of top players and they dont have QB to lead there Offense. Plus your players have to learn a whole new system. Good Luck this year but I just dont think they will be all that great this year. Good Luck.

It looks like a rebuilding year for U of M. Hopefully ND can advance a step further in their own rebuilding process. Sept. isn't that far away.

A win vs. UM or not this is great for the irish over the next few years. Pryor is going to be a vince young like QB and would be tough facing every year for four years. Clausen better look out for incoming freshman Crist. Crist is put together physically better than Quinn was his senior year. The kid could push for time later this year and ultimately create another qb controversy for '09 year.

Oh where to begin with this debacle of a thread? First off I love when teams like ND underestimate Michigan--THEY DON'T HAVE A QB--so ND does. ND lost last season for a few reasons--one was they had a young QB to lead them(how'd that work out), two ZERO running game, three all of the better player graduated from the year before(Willingham's boys). Terrell Pryor is overhyped and that is all he is HYPE. He isn't going to have the reigns handed over to him down in OSU. Michigan does not need him as our QB--YES we do have other QBs that are going to fill in nicely.
We play the third game of the season I believe--we will see who is ready.
Oh yeah ND fans how does it feel to get your butts handed to you two years in a row?

How is this a big gain for Notre Dame in the 2008 season? Pryor commiting to Ohio St. affects the Irish in one game. It's not like they have to play each other the next four years cause one school from Indiana is sick of getting their heads handed to them year after year.
Michigan will be better than a .500 team. David Cone hasn't even been mentioned in Spring Ball, I don't know how you overlooked Steven Threet (Former 4-star Qb) and in the fall duel threat QB Justin Feagin (3-star) will compete for time. You may remember another 3-star QB who was coached by Rodriguez, a guy by the name of Pat White. He turned out just fine. I'm not worried about UM.

To the creator of this thread, Man you opened the flood gates on that one.
LOL I dont even know where to start on this thread, is this coming from a guy whose team was repeatively beaten to a pulp and for the first half of the season couldnt score an offensive touchdown and they had the #1 QB of last years class if I am not mistaken. Didnt ND lose to Airforce and Navy and almost lost to Duke? sure we lost to App.State I'm sure somone will bring that up but come one we didnt strike out with a bad season lol.
I am not worried about our QB situation it'll pan out the talent is there.
When we played ND last year Clausen was on his back the whole game does 38-0 sound familiar. We shredded them with Lloyd's predictable offense. We dont need Pryor to beat ND , we have talented other guys, Threet will do for this year but we can get a top QB next class. I can't wait to see our offense this year run ramped on ND. Our defense will be all over these loons, prepare to see 2006 all over again in South Bend.
This is the perfect game to let Sam Mcguffie loose and get playing time. Our receiving core is loaded and wayy better then Notre Dame's, their secondary is going to get shredded. This is one road game I am looking forward to.
ND doesnt stand a chance against Michigan the next 4-6 years, However I am glad this thread was made it will add some hype to the rivalry at least on the message board.
GO BLUE!!!!
