	Give the job to Ryan and look for someone who gets cut from Spring Training from another team. This guy is a joke! Why did we let Eckstein go again? Izturis has 6 errors so far this spring in 13 games! And defense was supposed to be his specialty! And his stout .139 average is less than his weight!!! This guy is done and it's no wonder the Dodgers, Pirates, and Cubs let him go.

	Agreed. He's not hitting nor is he fielding. If it was just the bat, you could justify keeping him as a late inning defensive replacement. As things stand now, I don't think we can even do that. pipe

	I agree. This guy has got to go. Ryan showed last year that he can play and do a decent job. Sure Ryan is young and going to make mistakes but it he is young and will learn from them. Ryan deserves the spot over Izturis and I sure hope he gets it.

	yea he has been awful. he sucked with the Cubs and hes awful with us. we shouldnt have traded eckstein and we can get a better shortstop.

	Then we are agreed, this izturis must go. Pretty pathetic. Sounds like the yips on the defensive front. Tony will have no choice but to pull him if he does this for the next two weeks. The hitting doesn't get him benched . It has sucked, but not as bad as the proposition that your Starting multimillion dollar stopgap shortstop can not live up to the playing ability of a high schooler. Why in the F%^&*%^ would we sign an ex Cub? If they thought he was so great "DURING HIS PRIME!" then why didn't they keep him? They just managed to barely win a crappy division last year. What were they thinkin'? There had to be someone else . For God's sake MILES is a much better player. To say nothing of B. Ryan. get rid of Iztu-RISK and clear a spot for Mather. Let Miles and Ryan duke it out.

	For whatever reason Tony LaRussa is in love with Ceaser Izturis. For the life of me I can't figure out why. He's bad in the field and horrible at the plate. Add to the fact he's not very fast and what do you get? The starting shortstop for the Cardinals this year. Yuck!
