In the first and second round locations, 4 teams from two different brackets play.

Not all of the East will be in Raliegh. N.C. will play winner of UI and Arkansas, and winner of Gonzaga and Davidson will play Georgetown. The ones moving to Sweet 16 meet the other teams (in their bracket) in Sweet 16 in their respective locations.

In 1st and 2nd rounds, locations get 2 sets of 4 teams from 2 different brackets.

That's IU, not UI. It's Indiana University. Other than that, your explanation of the 'pod system' or whatever they're calling it now is really good and clear. I like the way they're doing that now. More teams can play close to home that way.

I wonder why nobody is talking about George Mason's chances up against Notre Dame. Everyone seems to think that Notre Dame is all of a sudden really good and that their Big East tourney loss to Pitt didn't give Mason a good blueprint on how to defeat the Irish, tough defense to shut down ND's big man! Mason has a stringy defense and if by halftime Notre Dame isn't up by 10 points, then I would believe that Coach Larranaga would motivate his youngsters to upset Notre Dame!

Go Mason!

I think SSGArmy forgot that marquette beat notre dame in the big east tournament not pitt. Also i dont think many people realize how balance this notre dame team is, yes they have a great low-post player in harangody, but if the 3point shooters of McClarney and ayers are on it will be tough for george mason to even keep it close. Too many people are haning on to the hopes of 2 years ago and are gonna be disappointed.

I think you might have forgotten snapdawg that Will Thomas is the best player for George Mason and is also a big man.  Not only that but he has guarded better post players than slow white Harangody.  Will has played well against Michael Beasley, Tyler Hansborough, and Rudy Gay.  Not only that but we have solid defense on the outside with both Folarin Campbell and John Vaughn.  Sorry but Notre Dame basketball this year is overrated, just like the football team.

Dude, GMU will beat Notre Dame. They are more experienced, and have Will Thomas who matched up against Michael Beasley scoring 18 points, and averages more boards per game than Harangody. Notre Dame is a good team, but they will be upset by George Mason because the fact the GMU made the Final 4 will be in the back of ND's minds. GMU's tandem of Thomas and Folarin Campbell will win it for them.

I agree with you 100 percent SSGArmy. Everyone is talking about how good Notre Dame is despite the fact that they lost to Marquette in the Conference tournament. Harangody is a good player, but Will Thomas has dealt with better players than him. He has matched up against Tyler Hansbrough and Michael Beasley, both of whom were better at the time of those games than Harangody is right now, and GMU won both games. The Kryptonite Kids are back baby!
