Good post.  I like Nate the more I read about him, but we need a table setter and .258 won't cut it.  I'm anxious for ST to see what they can all bring, and really interested to see what McCutchen will do.

Nate is hard to not like because I think he is a team player.  If it was football he would be an outstanding special teams player.  However, I am totally invested in the McC account, and I cannot afford to think about anybody else.  It is time to move forward away from the days that we were happy with Tike Redman?  We are blessed with 4 guys who can be effective starters in CF, and in my personal opinion of this situation and listed in importance to the furure of this franchise they are - McC, McLouth, Duffy, Morgan.  The only reason Duffy is ahead of Morgan is that he has higher tradeability.  He is the guy to add with Nady in a possible trade to an AL team to get some young prospects in positions where we are short.  Yes, they can both help us, but they can help us more in what we might be able to get to establish the Bucs as a NOW team with a strong future because of youth in the lineup and in the system.

For a "table setter" you really want to look more at their On Base Percentage rather than their batting average.

Nate's .351obp last year lead the team (min 300 at bats).

Looks like McClouths breakout year has already begun.

Awesome start!  I know he won't keep up this pace, but to bust out of the gate like that was exactly what was needed.  Maybe he can be the spark this team needs.  This from rotowire.com:

Nate McLouth went 3-for-5 with a homer, four RBI and a walk in Monday's win.
McLouth's homer was a three-run shot off reliever Manny Acosta. The four RBI matches his career high from a game against the White Sox last June. McLouth won't drive in a lot of runs as Pittsburgh's leadoff batter and hitting for average has never been his strong suit, but he should contribute in three categories

I would love to see this be a break out year for Nate.  I was sceptical about keeping Morgan on this spring,  but it was sure nice to see some speed on the bases.

i'd say keep Nate and Morgan Trade Bay"s sorry moping ass and build this team on the small ball and speed and pitching. Bay should bring a decent pitcher the staff is still young and with Nate ,morgan and Nady in the outfield should have some pretty good defense. I say Shake things up Pittsburgh it couldn't hurt ,nothing  has worked in the last 15 years
