I think we need a math check real quick. As for your post about the combined records of the "big wins" that Butler has had. I honestly take Michigan out of that list. The other 4 teams OSU, VT, FSU, and TT have a combined record of 58-38, and even if you did take Ohio State out their record is 41-30. So dont try to hide the abismal 6-17 record of Michigan into your addition to make things look worse than they actually are.
Second, Butler doesnt get the opportunity to play as many "Power" conference teams as they would like to for two reasons. One of them is that the majority of the games arent exactly planned, the teams just happen to be in the same tournament, and Butler beats them. (Note: Neutral Court) Next reason, out of the teams that Butler DOES actually manage to schedule, the MAJOR majority of these games are either AWAY or NEUTRAL. Most of the teams that Butler tries to schedule push and push for Butler to go to their place because the simple fact of the matter is that they absolutely DO NOT want to have to play at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Its the simple fact of the matter. Yet, Butler still goes on the road and does EXCEPTIONALLY well against high power opponents.
tennyskj,
I totally agree with you that Blackshirts comment was hysterical. Considering we beat a BETTER Gonzaga team last year with a team thats not as good as this year. Beat FSU by 11. Man we really got our butts kicked huh? lol O yea, and not to mention being down by 10 at half to Ohio State, and then to go on and "only" win by 19. hahaha I mean they dont really have much of an argument, when you really look at it. I love haters, they crack me up to no end.

The post you are referring to was in response to a reply by whitehawk in which HE said that Butler had beaten Michigan, Florida state, OSU, VT, and TT. That is where my math came from, the combined records of those teams at that time. Michigan was included in that because they had been mentioned by whitehawk, that wasnt my idea. I am glad that big wins is in quotation marks, because I dont believe that anyone believes that those are truly big wins. It looks like OSU might be on the wrong side of the bubble, so that would make a grand total of 0 tourney teams that butler has beaten this year. That math should be a little easier for you to comprehend.
The only reason Ohio State is considered a bubble team this year is because of the strength of most of the Big Ten this season. I know where the math came from, thats why I took Michigan out of the list. I am quite surprised that you kept Michigan in that list in your post, because it would be ridiculous to call that one a big win, whether it was Whitehawk who placed them there to begin with, or you who didnt bother to throw up the red flag when you saw that Michigan was there. I mean seriously, 6-17 and someone as critical as you let THAT slide? Its laughable at best.
You are probably right that there may be none of those teams that make the tourney. Although I do believe OSU and Wright State will make it in, so thats 2 in my list. Like I said before, Butlers resume of wins has nothing to do with their play...their 23-2 record proves that, its the lack of teams that are willing to come play Butler. I mean they can only have so many road games. The only big game we have at home is Drake in a couple weeks...thats it, and most people still shrug that off as being a mid major game. Its hard getting any credit when you are a small university in a mid major conference...plain and simple.

Another "why is it"? Why is it that ignorant jarhead fans from Butler -- that includes you Indysid1213, want to sit behind their little keyboard and talk about years past Butler successes? They will not make the Sweet 16 this year---period!!!!!!! They dont have it this year!!! Who cares about the Gonzaga game last year or a scatter-brain win vs. Fla St. this year......I never mentioned in my post Ohio St.--they suck too! BUTLERS SCHEDULE "OVERALL" IS WEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best team they beat? S. Ill. or Ohio St.....HA!!!!!!!!! THAT IS WEAK Girls!!!!!!!! I guess when your school only has 1 sport that anyone can think of....you wish, hope and dream that you are better than who you say you are......dream on girls.....I hope they do get a good seed come March....then the upset will be that much sweeter!!!!!!!!
BUTLER FART! BUTLER WHINE! WELCOME TO THE DAWG BOWL.......DAH!!!!!!!!
As a Butler Alum and current UNL MBA student... your are an idiot with not much to stand on...
Butler's basketball team is an amazing display of discipline and teamwork... much like the blackshirt defense and triple option of the 90s. However, to say that Nebraska could beat Butler in basketball is stupid. And to think the Nebraska's football team has been anything but a dissapointment the last 5+ years is crazy. Butler has been solid for the last 10 years (when UNL took Butler's current AD). And Neb. has Women's Volleyball to show. Butler has less than 4000 students so it shouldn't compete with the big guys, but does. Butler graduates nearly everyone as well.
Respect that and don't inflate how good Nebraska is until Tom Osborne gets his butt back on the sidelines.
