I know this is a tough schedule this year but here is my prediction for the season:

CSU = W

Eastern Washington = W

Florida State = W

West Virginia = L

Texas = L

Kansas = W

Kansas State = W

Missouri = L

Texas A&M = L

Iowa State = W

Oklahoma State = L

Nebraska = W

If you think about it this is not only not out of the realm of possibility but very plausible. And if you want to go even further and think of how some of these other teams performed last year and a coaching change or two the you could possibly change either/or both oklahoma state and A&M to wins which would give you a 10-2 season. I know that there are plenty who agree and plenty who disagree so let me know what you think. Go Buffs!!!!

Here's how I see us doing:

CSU = W

Eastern Washington = W

Florida State = W

West Virginia = L

Texas = L

Kansas = L

Kansas State = W

Missouri = L

Texas A&M = W

Iowa State = W

Oklahoma State = W

Nebraska = W

A nice solid 8-4 season, we still have a young team and they will progress... We are going to dominate the Big 12 real soon though, i can feel it.

I'm still not sold on Kansas. They do have a lot of guys returning at the skill positions, and they may be able to ride this high for a little longer, but I am looking at the way we played them last year and thinking that we have made more strides than they have. We were in a position to win that game and should have. A&M had a good recruiting year and I am going to chalk that loss up to the 12th man down in College Station. We have never played very well down there. I definately agree with you on the Oklahoma State game though, but they do have some pretty solid skill position players and it just depends on the weather in Boulder. Either way I think we both have a pretty good hold on what to expect and where we are as a team. As you said we are very young and you never know how some kids will react when they are thrown into the fire we call Big 12 football.

A nebraska fan who lives in Colorado. Here is my thoughts

CSU-  W- Extremly good and fun game to watch

EW-W BLOW OUT

FSU- W They have been declining and CU will want the W

WVU- W The big upset is here. WIth a new coach everything changes

Texas- W- Nebraska came close even with a horrible D. Texas also loses Sweed and Charles.

KSU- L CU goes in a little overconfiedent and blows a 4th quarter lead

Mizzou- W After the pounding CU took payback is a B

A&M- Loss if its on the road W if its at home.

Iowa State- W the band could beat them

OKlahoma State- L good underrated team

Nebraska L- Lincoln will be rocking and neither team will give up more than 30.

SO that puts you guys at 7-5 or 8-4. Not to bad. Good Luck!

Cy Fan you are right you beat us but your football program outside of one year with Seneca Wallace has been awful and chances are it will remain that way but I agree with you on the band comment thats an insult. Schlinny your back again with your assesment of our schedule. Why do you feel the need to express your opionion on our schedule? No Colorado fans gives a s--- what you think about our future results. I laugh when you say your not impressed with Hawkins. That is pure jealousy bro because you see where we are headed. Freshman dont make an impact other then Adrian Peterson( See Darrel Scott ). You guys are entitled to your opinion but leave it amongst yourselves, especially when it pertains to scheduling and results. The next 3 years you people play VA Tech twice( home and away), which is good team and below mediocre Washington in Wa out of Conference. Every other team is bad and at home. That is pathetic. You guys continually play a p---- schedule and your supposed to be big bad Nebraska LOL. No comment on Pelini because he hasnt been on a big stage yet at the helm. He takes over a team free of probation and has talent unlike Hawkins but i forgot your not impressed.

Come talk to us when you play WVU, Georgia, FSU, Hawaii, LSU and Cal like we do in the next 4 years.

Man...a lot of hostility there "bro".  I was just making an honest prediction and really wasn't trying to put CU down in any way.  I value other fans opinions just as much as I do other Huskers as long as they are in good taste and honest opinions such as what Cyfan generally brings to the table.  I may not agree with it, but that's neither here nor there.

As for hawkins...am i missing something here?  Am I really supposed to be impressed with an 8-17 record through 2 years?...Seriously?

And as for the scheduling, we played USC the last two years, Wake the last 2 out of 3.  We play Va Tech the next two.  In 2010 and 2011 we have a home and away with Washington.  In 2012 and 2013 we have a home and away with UCLA.  Haven't filled our schedule yet for 2014 and 15, and in 2016 and 17 we have a home and away with Tennessee.  I mean really...what more do you want?

No hostility at you just tired of the ignorance of the myopic responses of most of your fans and your last one. Not arguing your predictions but when you say your not impressed with Hawkins thats just being a Nebraska fan and shutting your eyes to the world. Everybody in the media is lauding this guy for pulling the number one RB in the country and taking 3 of your prized recruits. His players love him and his former players and Boise fans talk highly about him even when he is gone. He set that program on the track and moved onto a big time conference and school that was at Rock Bottom. Do you realize where our football program truly was? Honestly? No , you dont just like the rest of your fans. It wasn't walking into a half empty cupboard like Solich, Callahan and Pelini will and did.

Barnett built it back up then buried it. We had no regarded recruits since 2002. We lost our best players to transfer. We had the smallest recruiting budget you can think of. We had tons of recruiting restrictions. We had the sex scandal and were on ESPN behind the lines and a female player was put down verbally by the coach. The Coach was let go then the AD and then the President resigned.  Two years after taking the job with zero talent and starting with a 3rd string QB in his first year he upset Oklahoma, hung in every game tight that he lost except Missouri in his second year. He then rolled 65 points on you and made a bowl and barely lost after a bad start. Then he gets a great recruting class including the number one running back in the nation. Not impressed with that after what he had to walk into. That is blind my friend.

Then the schedule you guys play. I'll give you USC although you were abused twice and  Va Tech but dont talk about 2014-17 when I said 4 years. Also, can you please address the other 3 teams you play out of conference each year. Its the biggest joke I have seen for supposedly such a storied program. We played at Georgia in our 2-10 year and lost by 4 on a last minute play. We play at FSU and WVU at home this year. Wake Forest? Cmon man they are ok and won the ACC when that conference was pitiful. I know your a good fan and know your stuff Schlinny but open your eyes outside of Lincoln and give respect otherwise you wont get any back.

Sorry about the math. I had been at work since 5:30 am and I meant to put OKST as W/L. To tell all of you others the truth I really don't care what you think about The Hawk. It sounds like a little jealousy issue to me. I can't say i blame you since Callahan was supposed to be a world beater and turned out to be a flop and then you replace him with a guy who has never been in the center of it all. Pelini is a great defensive guy and a good recruiter, but we had someone very similar to that with Neuheisel and look at what he did to our program. Things change drastically when you are in the lime-light.

Baker will be an animal for you guys, but other than that Pelini has a lot of work to do to bring back the "Black Shirt" mentality to a defense that got it handed to them last year week in and week out.

I say the more Fusker fans on here the better. It makes me even more pleased with where we are as apposed to them. I regards to the pre season schedule for Nebrasska, they have always played a week non conference schedule to try and boost their rankings. I am glad to see that you guys arent playing Southern Missouri Nuns of the East anymore.

Go Buffs!!!!

Boy you got that right!!!  Good thing that's what Coach Pelini's specialty is!

Looks like Buff fans are ganging up on you, my man.

I don't defend Husker fans much, but you make solid points across the board.

Being a life long Buffman, I think I speak for most, that we are just finally feeling good about the future.  The Huskers and Buffs have a lot of work to do to get back into an elite status again.  2001 was the high water mark for both of us, and it has been a slow downhill decent ever since.

I personally am looking forward to the Friday after Thanksgiving game when CU and NU are both ranked in the top 10 fighting for the Big 12 North Title.  How much of a joke is it that we had to endure watching Missouri and Kansas playing on national TV for a shot at the Big 12 Championship.  Something is just not right about that.

Here is hoping that Bo and Hawk produce the same magic as Osbourne and McCartney.  Huck the Fuskers!!!!

Nobody fears the Corn and why the hell should they. The Big 8 is long gone and so is the politician.  Continue to live in your Myopic state and then continue to come in and kiss that you know what when we continue to do good things in the future. Your schedule has always been a joke and will always be except in maybe 7 years like you so predicted.

I dont want to bash anybodys program after what ours just went through I just don't go on other peoples sites and trash their team, say we are going to get this recruit or your coach blows. I dont predict other peoples schedules or how many women the starting quarterback had in his bedroom last night. My life doesn't revolve around negativity. If you have something to say when we play bring it its all good competition then. If we get blown out by an opposing team some ribbing doesnt hurt either but when you come on to just talk about your everyday opinon about somebody or something in our program thats irrelevant nobody cares. Go out and enjoy the outdoors Husker fans there is more to life then your College Football team.

Buffaloes in 08!!!

and school that was at Rock Bottom. Do you realize where our football program truly was? Honestly?

Well just off the top of my head :)...Barnett's last two seasons produced 8 and 7 wins respectively and both produced trips to the Big12 Championship game.  Honestly?...I wouldn't call that "rock bottom"...I'd say rock bottom was a 2-10 year with a loss to Div II or III or whatever they were Montana St (at home).  I don't care what shape the program is in, if you can coach you don't lose to a team like that.

Everybody in the media is lauding this guy for pulling the number one RB in the country and taking 3 of your prized recruits

I will say he pulled in a pretty impressive recruiting class.  Scott should bode very well for you guys (and could be that "special" frosh talent), but considering our situation at the time it prob. didn't take much to swa
