Both Forsett and Hawkins have made big impressions at the Senior Bowl.  Forsett is listed as starting TB and Hawkins will start and get good minutes too.

For some scouts, the practices are more important than the game, and many scouts leave town before the actual game.   Both guys have raised their draft prospects, with Forsett maybe going in the second round and Hawkins end of the first or second.

GO BEARS!!

A few notes from the Senior Bowl:

Lavelle Hawkins touched the ball 5 times

Got the opening KO and ran it out to the 40.
Caught a 35yd TD on an underthrown ball, good adjustment
Caught a 12yd pass for a 1st down, hit immediately
End around, not very smooth, well defensed, and he gained a yard after eluding a tackler in the backfield.
17yd catch for a 1st down, picking it off the turf on another underthrown ball.
He made good plays every time he touched the ball and helped himself with scouts watching.

Justin Forsett:  10 runs for 34 yards.   He never got much in the way of holes to run through, and drove through tacklers twice to make tough first downs.  He helped himself some.

Thomas DeCoud.
A couple of tackles, one was an open field tackle on a RB that busted into the secondary.  At the end of every play (it seemed) DeCoud was there in the picture, but he made very few plays.  No big plays against him in coverage.  Evaluation:  Did help himself - didn't hurt himself.

A couple guys who looked good in the game were Sedrick Ellis, DE, USC who looked like a monster, and Matt Forte, RB, Tulane who was both powerful and fast.

From Fox Sports:

Lavelle Hawkins, WR California & Justin Forsett, RB California

The two Bear playmakers might have been the most polished offensive stars of Senior Bowl week. Forsett time and again blew into the second and third levels and proved he could handle himself on inside runs, too. Hawkins was smooth and productive throughout looking the part of a potentially rock-solid No. 2 or 3 NFL receiver. He's not going to be a one, but he showed he could be a producer.
