Everyone was calling for his head on a platter. Now, let's see how many of the criminals will be dismissed from their teams. ...or how many of their fans will demand their dismissal.

I'm not sure I got what you're trying to say, but Perriloux really never made good decisions. Les Miles went outside the box, to offer him 2nd chance after 2nd chance and for some reason Getting paid a $30,000 scholarship to Eat, Sleep, Study, and Play Football just didn't register for Perriloux.
As for all the other criminals...they're on every football team, and you'd be amazed at the great jobs coaches do at covering it all up and cleaning up the mess. But When you're like Perriloux and make situations outside of the control of your head coach...yeah, you gotta go.
I am not following the post; however, Perriloux had everything given to him on a platter and made bad choice after bad choice and the coach even suspended him a game and gave him numerous chances. Most players would have been kicked off long before this last episode...another prima donna that thinks they are above their coach, the program and the law....very sad to waste such talent...
This goes back aways, but does anybody remember in 98 when Katzenmoyer from tOSU was dragged though the mud and taken to the cleaners for taking a golf class and a music appreciation class? He was criticized soundly in the media and talk radio.
Now we have trafficking cocaine, theft, assault, using the credit card of a dead person, weapons violations and much worse.
Times have changed so quickly in just a decade. LOL.
I'll say it again, I don't think RP did anything that heinous. Using a fake ID is normal kid stuff, and missing classes after your father passes away...not really too much of a big deal. Being at a bar when a fight breaks out, isn't much of a big deal either...
I'm sure there is stuff we don't know about, and I have to admit he seemed a little thuggish in interviews, but really, dude didn't really ever break the law. I think even college athletes should get their day in court, if they've really done anything wrong.

raptor,
That is my point. Not that it wasn't time for RP to move on, but all the clamour about him while many other players with worse transgressions get a pass.
I will say that discipline is very important and frequently under valued. Show me a program with poor discipline, and I'll show you a program that will stuggle to maintain it's long term success.
