Sherrill is second in the majors with 27 saves and you can bet your life that Paplebon (25), Nathan (23) and Rivera (22) will get the nod before Sherrill does.

MLB All-Star voting is a joke

Hmmm...let's see.  ERA: Sherill is 3.62, and the other three are 2.19, 1.30, and 0.96.  And he has more blown saves than any of the other three as well.  Dude, the actual number of saves mean nothing in terms of how good you are.  See Exhibit A: Joe Borowski for the 2007 Cleveland Indians.  What a joke!  This isn't to say Sherrill isn't any good...because he is!  But instead that the other three really do deserve it more than him.

All the teams get an All-Star and Sherrill will be the Orioles pick. They don't have much else. You want to talk about getting screwed, wait to see which Rays are left off. I just hope the Red Sox getting swept here will open Franconas eyes. We have more than one deserving All-Star. Longoria, Upton, Kazmir, Navarro, Howell. I just hope at least 2 make it. Come on Terry!

probably, but he does have a 3.62 era and 5 blown saves... when it comes down to it, even when considering this year's statistics, he doesn't even compare to the other three guys you mentioned... your INSANE if you would choose him over any of the other three in a do or die situation... actually, he probably wouldn't even make the all-star team if it wasn't for them needing at least one player to represent every team - even if they aren't deserving of the roster spot... and, by the way, this doesn't even consist as "all-star voting," since you cannot vote for pitchers - or reserves

It's easy to see who should represent the O's. There's only 4 players worthy. Brian Roberts, Aubrey Huff, George Sherrill, and Jim Johnson. In my opinion, it should be Johnson and Huff. Both players have had great years thus far. Huff is sitting at the top of most offensive categories for DH's in the league. As for Johnson, he's been our best pitcher out of the bullpen and has logged more innings than Sherrill the last time I looked.

wow, you guys sure are testy - personal attacks on a guy that is just voicing his opinion - and he has a valid point.  quite frankly, if I see a american league team with too many Yanks and Red Sox, I can't help but pull for the National League...
