He's back! Josh Fogg with his 1-2 record and ERA of 9.85 will be toeing the rubber for the Reds tonight. They say Aaron Harang has stiffness in his right forearm. Great! This was obviously the best option the Reds had. The greatness that is Josh Fogg. If there is any silver lining in this dark cloud, it is that we are facing Tim Redding, who hasn't made it past the sixth inning in any of his last 5 starts.
Corey Patterson is 3 for 13 with 5 strikeouts in his career vs. Tim Redding, so look for Dusty Baker to give him a start with those outstanding numbers. Look for Patterson to replace Griffey in the lineup who is 4 for 7 vs. Redding with a double and a home run.
Again I hope my fellow Reds fans had a great 4th, becuase the 5th doesn't look real promising.
wow i can't believe Josh Fogg is getting the start. With those numbers Patterson will clearly be playing over Griffey because he has better numbers against Redding(So Dusty will say). We are finally out of last and now Fogg is on the mound so don't expect to stay out of last for too long.
Statistics are deceiving.
Corey went back to the minors, remember, a few weeks ago to "fix" a couple of things. So he's much improved at the plate since the last time he saw Redding.
This could be an absolutely shootout. But then again, both offenses are just insignificant. That's also what everybody said when it was Thompson vs. Giese from the Yankees. Hopefully we shell Redding and I say Kepp finds the bench, with Hairston at short, then the Dunn/Bruce/Griff platoon in the outfield with EE at third.
