ok so Julius Jones is now gone... so barber is 100% the starter... instead of the redzone guy hes the everything guy.. BUTTT then you guys drafted Felix Jones exactly how much playing time is he going to be getting? less the jones last year?? like 70/30 or what?
the reason why i ask is because i drafted Marion in my fantasy league then i was offered Jamal Lewis and Big Ben forrr Marion and Rivers... idk what i should do i really like marion but lewis and big ben both get pts.. barber gets some and so does rivers but if barber is getting more playing time def. gunna stick with him whatcha think?
It depends how quickly the rookies F. Jones and T. Choice come along. He should have more carries early on and then slowly lose some as the season wears on. I would say that Barber should be a fairly solid fantasy RB all told. Anywhere from a lower no. 1 to high no. 2 back, fantasy speaking. If I was you I would probably stick with what you have. I don't see J. Lewis putting up the numbers he did a year ago. Just my opinion.
the way i see it is felix will get 1/4 of the teams carries you figure lets say 400 carries total on the team he will carry a total 100 barber will have around 250 and the rest will total 50. basically barber will be like julius but better than julius was. he was supposed to be our speed guy and barber was supposed to be our change of pace. well the speed didnt work out. not its gonna be hurtem then burnem. i still see barber workin the goaline just cuz hes a smart bruisin back wit speed. my predicts barber has 16 scores this year rushin + recievin and felix will have 5 mostly recieving. now that trade ya got i wouldnt do it for life of me. ben didnt show me much last year after his accident and Jamal Lewis is pushin it. but barber is definitely now lookin like a 1250+ yards and 16 tds and rivers outta have a good year after another year of expeirience. id keepem both. hell this is the best part of fantasy leagues do i take the chance and trade away the possible best fantasy player this year for a possible injury in the first week. ya never know what could happen. hell i released ladanian after the draft to pick up some crappy reciever when LT was a rookie BOY I WAS WRONG.
Jones will probably be expected to get around 150 carries. Which will be good for him in his first year. Don't foget he also may be placed in the slot at times. If the Boys' run decide to run some 2 back sets Jones could line up similar to a z-back and catch passes out of the backfield.
Barber is the starter now and should have been last year. You forget that he didn't start games at the end of last season, but like in the playoffs he had more carries than Julius Jones. Barber will handle everything just fine and get about 250-300 carries and Jones will get around 150. It will work just fine.
Barber can't handle 200 plus carries a year.his running syle will not take the punishment..he is a short yard back at best...he can punish defenders but defenders are going to be looking at his running from last year ,and beat the sleves of this guy half way through the season.
