With the Cubs and Cardinals set to play game 2 of their 3 game series this afternoon, a Brewers win today would either leave the Brewers in second place in the division and leading the wild card standings (but 1 percentage point over STL) if the Cardinals lose or would leave the Brewers just 3.5 games behind the Cubs in the Cubs lose the game.

At this point, i'm not sure what to root for so I guess i'll just happily await the Cubs/Cards outcome and go nuts for the Brewers as usual and see what it looks like when the dust settles.

Go Brewers!!

P.S.  Which Dave Bush shows up today?  No-hit or Oh-Sh**??

Bush gets to pitch in his home ballpark so I would be inclined to say the "good" Bush, but who knows.  The offense is ready to explode, I just thing Braun and Fielder are both ready to unleash hell at the same time.....for the fitst time this year.   With Rickie coming around a tiny bit and Hardy and Hart hitting well, it could be pretty nice to watch.  I'll be at the game so I hope I'm correct in that.

As far as the Cubs and Cardinals, I dont care.  Good things happen either way as long as we win.  On paper it would seem like another close game, but I would think the Cardinals win at least one at thier own ballpark and the Cubs are not good on the road.  I think the Cards take the next two and the heat really starts getting applied to the Cubs.

It's far too early to worry about what the Cubs and Cardinals are up to. We still have 16 games ( 6 vs. Cards, 10 vs. Cubs) to play against them this year. It is these games which will largely decide the NL Central, not what happens in Busch Stadium tonight.

Besides that, how can anyone call themselves a true Brewers fan, unless they root for the Cubs to lose whoever they are playing?

I found myself torn yesterday watching the Cubs/Cards game. I had no idea which team to root for, so I turned it off. While I myself have been scoreboard watching since about opening day, I wouldn't get too excited yet either way. The Brewers should have a much easier second half and if they can continue to take care of their own games the way they have lately, we won't need to worry about the rest of the NL Central.

The best thing in the Cubs Cardinals series is for them to go as many extra innings as possible so they both have to use every arm in the bullpen longer than they should.  Obviously it is early and the all star break is around the corner but it would be nice if they would weaken each other a bit before the break. If the Cubs can lose these two games it bunches everyone up more and more.  If not, oh well they still have to come to Miller Park a few times.

I'm with ballinglove on this one all the way; I start scoreboard watching immediately following the first pitch of the season.   And of course it matters where the Cubs and Cardinals sit.  All we hear about on the main board is how the Brewers won't make the playoffs because they aren't even the second best team in their own division.

Wow it's been forever since I've posted!  :)

I started scoreboard watching early this season, but realized (when a good friend told me) that the only thing we should concentrate on is the Brewers winning.  As long as we win our games (The game on Thursday was a bitter pill to swallow), we can't dwell on who we'd rather win or lose.

Either way, whomever loses today, as long as we win we'll be in better shape for it!

Speaking of which, bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, and Kerry Wood has already let one run cross the plate, and haven't recorded an out!

But, to be honest, I hope a massive sink hole develops and swallows both teams whole, not to be heard from again until the Crew take the division!
