Well its almost July which means its mostly trading time! What moves would you like to see the O's do? Since its my thread I'll go 1st:

The O's are still in contention but they do not want to do too much to ruin the chemistry but they do need some help overall.

- Bal trades INF B.Fahey to Was for INF F. Lopez
Fahey is not in our future plans. He is a capable back up in the NL and we get a SS with speed and can switch hit. Hoping a change in scenery can get Lopez into a MLB frame of mind.

- Bal trades OF J.Payton & RP J.Walker + Low Minor leaguer + Cash to Phi for SP B.Myers
Myers is still an ace caliber pitcher who is signed to a reasonable contract. He just pitches in a bad ballpark for pitchers. Let him come here he will get back on track. Payton is good vs Lefties so off the bench or platooning he would help Philly. and Walker is a good RP. He has just had some bad luck this year. He might have been over-used last season.

I still think that the O's need to stick to what we were doing at the beginning of the year.  I know that we are playing well above what we were expected to do this year.  We have a GREAT team right now.  HOWEVER, I still think we NEED to stay on the path of rebuilding.

I know that most of you wont agree with me, but players like B-rob, Sherrill, Payton, Mora, Huff (only if Macphail is 100% serious about going after Tex), Walker, Bradford are ALL trade-able right now.  Yeah, we are playing great ball right now.  but look at our standings.  We are playing over our heads right now, and still cant touch Boston or TB.  We need to load up on YOUNG, talented players.  That means trading a few key parts of this team.

I'm one that is gonna stay true to the "rebuilding" phase.  We need to get depth in our minor leagues.

Well MacPhail mentioned that he wanted an arm (Myers not CC). And we need a SS (Lopez). Why not try to get a little more competitive? I think I remember us playing some pretty good ball lately. Why pull the rug out?

I don't know if those trades specifically are best for the Orioles, but those are exactly the kinds of moves I'd like to see them make.  It's still a seller's attitude, but rather than going after the flashy it moves some less-important pieces around in an effort to build a more complete team.  We need another option at SS, and we need more SP for the short-term at least because most of the "rotation of the future" isn't ready.

Those aren't bad trades,Brett Myers would be a good pick-up for the O's. He's still young  and Citizens Bank Park is terrible for pitchers. My problem with these trades would be Lopez. I don't think he would be mutch of an upgrade over Cintron. Of course then Cintron would become the back-up which improves our bench. The Orioles need to find a talented young SS for the future. The cupboard is bare at that position. If the O's could find a team with a talented young SS at AA or AAA whose ready for a shot at the Majors then I think they should make a deal.

Its impossible to make trades without offending somebody or hurting somebodies feelings. With that being said if the Mets had interest in Millar AND the Os where confident they could get Tex from Atlanta. I think you absolutely have to do it. I just think that the Os could send Daniel Cabrera and maybe another arm or two and snag Tex away from Atlanta. That side steps the Yanks and Mets from going after him in free agency.

SS is the tough position to tell where the Os are looking. I understand they are interested in the one Nats SS but I wouldnt be suprised to see Michael Young being shopped and I think he would fit well with Baltimore, who knows what the asking price would be though.

But Ive posted it several times Id really love to see Adrian Beltre here. It makes a lot of sense to me. Hes got some pop in the bat, he has some speed and is an excellent fielder plus hes much younger than Mora. They could get him relatively cheap in terms of what to give up for him.

I fully expect the Os to make some moves both to add and subtract some contracts. Injuries could play a role on who stays and who goes. If the Phils lost someone due to injury I could see them wanting Mora. I could also see him waiving his no trade clause if it was to a team like Philly that is close to his home.
