The last time Notre Dame won a bowl game Jared from subway still weighed 400 pounds and looked alot like Charlie Weis does now.

Notre Dame as a football team has only 2 camps - the lovers, and the haters. Pick your poison. Being a homer of the Irish (grew up in South Bend), I attended many home games, and thought it was my birthright to see the Goodyear blimp at least twice each autumn for a big ND home game (late 60's, all of the 70's). Reality has finally sunk in...
As with anything, "The Greatest" tag ebbs and flows like the tide (Roll Tide!!). Who was the greatest president of the USA? The greatest basketball player in the NBA? The greatest MLB player? The greatest humanitarian?
Pick your poison. In my opinion, Notre Dame is the greatest. The important thing for all of us is to continue to enjoy college football, at whatever level!

We should also include that Notre Dame' s football team has also had one of the highest GPA's in the country the past 3 or 4 years. Kids that go to ND get to play on TV every week, and they have a good chance of receiving a great education too.
And... the fans. I would put maybe Nebraska's loyal fan base as #1, but Notre Dame fans have to be up in the top 5. Class all the way - the ND band plays the alma mater song of the opponent at the end of each home game, and the fans usually stay to clap at the end.
What about the tail-gating? Despite the admin's attempt to rid t-ging before the games, it has evolved with the times.
And there is nothing like going to a home game in Sep/Oct, with the cool crispness of autumn hanging in and around the stadium. If you have seats in the south end-zone, high enough in the stadium, you can look out over the top of the opposite side and see Touchdown Jesus, on the library! Or attend mass at one of 10 or 12 locations on campus AFTER the game - even at midnight. Or head to the grotto, say a prayer for a loved one by the lake. Or step into Sacred Heart for a silent prayer.
These all make Notre Dame great.

haha I wouldn't have even responded to that if I was you. That's embarassing. haha. You know what's funny is how you lost 38-0 to us only two weeks after we lost to appy st, which means we were basically the same team only two weeks after, and wound up killing you. Owning us for the next ten years? that's probably the most rediculous thing I have ever heard in my life. You won't even beat us this year, because YOU are the team with nothing left. Zibikowski is gone so you are litterally left with nothing. lol
psYour stadium is a mini replica of ours.

A supposed national championship contender losing to a D1AA school at home in front of 110,000 of its own fans. So i guess everyone has things theyd like to forget.
You won't even beat us this year, because YOU are the team with nothing left. Zibikowski is gone so you are litterally left with nothing. lolHaha not Zibby!!! Who can we put out there to get burned deep on every play this year??? Oh no! As much as i and most other fans love zbikowski, only someone thats clueless would say losing him will kill us. We lose a good punt returner and some experience. Nothing else. He wasnt even the best defensemen we lost, so that tells me you really dont know what your talking about.

ND football sucks, has sucked and will suck. You are a complete tool if you think ND will beat Michigan for the next 10 years when they can't even win THIS year. Your rebuilding process will take longer than ours the only difference is we will actually find the light at the end of the tunnel. ND football will never be what it used to be and I don't even understand why you think you get the best recruits in the nation. It sure doesn't show up on the field!!! You don't have the most championships in college football like you all want to claim, your stadium sucks, your TV contract probably has NBC losing money on you losers, Your band is weak, your fihgt song is goofy, your coach doesn't have a clue, your players are always over rated as is your team and your unis might be the most boring in all of sports. Of course these are all reasons why ND is not so great!!!! Face the facts, the best players in the country won't play for ND anymore.
