I'm amazed that no one has started a thread about Mauricia Grant yet. I watched her interview this morning on ESPN and I'm curious what everyone else on the board here thinks. She claims that 2 men showed her there junk. If that truely happened, I think she is entitled to some form of compensation. As for the rest of her accusations, I don't know. I'm no hirailer   racist, but it just seems that a black woman entering into  a career in NASCAR should almost prepare herself to hear some derogatory things. It seemed as if the "racist" remarks (if they were said) were taken out of context.

I'm sure if you asked Juan Pablo if he has overheard a few racial remarks he would probably laugh and shake his head. and that would be the end of it. He's not out there trying to give the sport a bad name. It's his bread and butter. If i remember correctly one of the black crew members of a team that I can't remember has been refered to as Chocolate Thunder on numerous live broadcasts. Is this racist as well?

I feel there is no clear right or wrong answer. I'm just curious to hear some of the feedback from the best message board on CBS. I look forward to reading your replies. (Except for Hirailer's) LOL

If I was the lawyer for NASCAR the first question I would have to ask is'

If you were so appaled, upset, and distrout about what was going on,  Why did you stay 2 1/2 years?  Why didn't she call the cops when they showed her their stuff?  That is an offense in all states, lude in public, I think.  No I believe some of this happened but I also believe she dished it out as much as she took.

I saw the interview, I'm not saying nothing happened, but my first thought was she was well coached by her legal team as what to say.

Will this case get to court? No, there will be a settlement probably 1%  to 3 % of what she was asking for.

well everyone that has a trial for something is coached by thier lawyers, it is thier job to win and to try to control the trial. Now I do think there is probaly some valid accusations there, and NASCAR will settle out of court. The funny think about this story is that it has taken a month to hit the mainstream news, the story actually broke June 15th

This story is old news around here and there has been a few threads about it that have already come and gone..

Racial issues are always a touchy subject and I don't care to address them here but I will address the working environment issues.. One has to know if their working on a construction site their going to be treated differently than if their working in a white collar environment.. it's that simple.. as far as how people ( including your co-workers ) treat and respect you is dictated by YOU.. if you appear receptive to derogatory remarks and perhaps even engage in them yourself then that creates a level of acceptance that people will play off of especially if your a female. most guys look for boundaries, if you let them know that you won't tolerate that kind of behavior they quickly learn where the line is drawn and respect that.

I'll give you a good example..Having Married and dated many attractive women I've seen this often.. Guys look for boundaries. at first I used to be the one who tried to set them for my dates/wife by any means necessary but I learned that I wasn't actually the one who controlled them, SHE WAS .. she can defuse a situation much quicker and easier than I could simple by kindly letting them know she wasn't receptive to their actions. if that didn't work ( which it did most the time ) then I would step in.. my point is I'm fairly sure Ms Grant wanted to be one of the boys and went along with the program until it served her purpose to use it in her favor..   this case is exactly why I don't engage in this kind of behavior at the work place even if all the signals say the lights green GO..

She's flat out lying.  Listening to her she seems to be someone who wants a free ride and not have to work.

JG I swear I am not hitting on you, but I agree again. It is the womans place to set boundries on what is thrown thier way. As for the couple de
