Hey everyone old enough to be married...

This is a chance to brag about your blue and gold "Mountain Mama" as the late, great John Denver would put it.

My wife knows next to nothing about football, and she has the green-eyed jealousy bug, but she has always supported my love of WVU. She even tries to strike up a conversation about the games from time to time. Thank God I have a Mountaineer wife!

Any other shout outs from WVU land!

my wife is also totally awesome.
she's a tarheel, but roots for the Mounties, she's enthusiastic about going to the games and tolerates me re-watching the games.
at the home games she likes to study the players (we're on the 11th row) and tries to figure out what kind of person they are, it's a girl thing, i guess.
basically she supports whatever it takes to be a fan, she's great and i'm a lucky man.

After 34 years I can say my wife supports my sports habit, WVU and otherwise.  Like your wife, CoolBeans, my wife has no idea about what is going on, but she tries.  Her favorite teams are based on her favorite animals.  She is a great lady and allowed my daughter to follow in my foot steps and she is a knowledgeable sports wife now,  but her husband gets upset because she knows more about sports than him.

I gotta true blue Mountain Momma from the hills of West by God.  She loves the Mounties (not quite as much as I do), and never misses a game on tv and loves to go to games, home or away.

As a matter of fact, as a graduation present to me, she is flying us both to Colorado for the game this year!!!!

I'd like to thank my soon to be wife (June 21) for letting me get drunk at the WVU football games and scream nonsense for the better part of 8 hours and then letting me "celebrate" a win or "mourn" a loss with her before we go to sleep.... I hear that will stop soon, so I'd like to thank her for the memories...

Great idea, Cool Beans!  Hope it's o.k. to thank a husband instead...

(Yep, as wvujax recently discovered on another board - I'm a chick!)

Bryan and I have been married for 4 years (this October).  He's originally from Cincy and was not much of an organized sports fan (save playing high school soccer).  He is more into pursuits such as whitewater rafting, hiking, canoeing, repelling, etc.

Bryan fell in love with West Virginia long before he fell in love with me.  He trained as a whitewater rafting guide on the New and felt instantly at home here.  Obviously, he's an outdoorsy kinda guy and WV was sort of a "weekend playground" for him.

When he moved to WV when we got married, he was a "good" husband and sat through the Mountaineer football games with me.  But from game one (it was football season... can't remember which was "our" first game), I saw that his interest in Mountaineer football was not just a "newlywed" thing tolerated to support me.  As each game passed, from football to basketball season, Bryan became a huge WVU fan.

Now he's the guy with a dozen WVU caps who has missed several company social functions to attend WVU games. His friends at work give him a hard time because not only does his wife "let" him miss the Christmas party to go to a game, she insists upon it.

So it's pretty cool to have helped create a WVU fan.  (Something about those WVU ballcaps made him even more attractive to me!)

Anyway, he's a Mountaineer now and he's AWESOME!

My wife if a Marshall grad. :(

She knows more about WVU football than Marshall. :)

She has been to every bowl game since we Maryland in the Gator :)

She goes to more WVU games than MU :)

She understands our cheers, but not that damn thunderclap :)

When WVU and Marshall played a close first half, she actually called me from San Francisco where she was watching the game to say "I know I shouldnt say this but I really dont want Marshall to win, it could really mess up WVU's season. Its just the wrong time" :)

We originally had our wedding scheduled during the Louisville game last year. I said it had to be changed since I wouldnt ask my family and friends to m
