Guys, I want to say that it has been fun sparing with you over the past few months. We may have agreed on very little, other than our love for the team. Hopefully when this is all over, it can be a win-win for both cities. It would probably help to get the current city leaders out of there. As I said, it has been fun battling you guys for what we felt was a good cause. I know your pissed now, but hopefully you will come on here when the season starts. Then we can just talk hoops instead of all the othe BS. If you don't most would understand. I truely feel bad for the true Seattle fans. Really was not expecting a settlement. It is a shame it had to happen this way. Hopefully, everything will work out for all. One bright spot. At least everything Sonics stay there. In 5 years no one will give it a thought, as long as your new city leaders do the right thing by the people of Seattle.

the key phrase is the city leaders do the right thing, Stern said he wants something done within a year and a half and these current leaders cant get voted out until November of 09..but one thing I ask of you as a die hard fan, in the settlement Bennett wants split history but once you get the team please do not proclaim yourselves to have already won a NBA championship or put up the retired numbers

OKCJohn.....I thought this was going to be a post of you being a a$$hole, but I was wrong. It's good to see you show some respect for the fans of Seattle. You may be the first OKC fan i've seen to do this. I'm sick of everyone saying that no fans give a crap in seattle about the sonics. Yes, their are some people in Seattle that didn't care if the Sonics left but the reason for that is those people didn't want to build another stadium. People should understand that $500 million dollar plus stadiums don't grow on trees. It takes time for these things to develop and we didn't have enough time. Their are also so many more important things than sports teams Seattle has to deal with...........Yeah yeah, we built the Seahawks and Mariners new stadiums why not the Sonics??? The M's and Hawks both played in the Kingdome which was falling apart. Safeco and Qwest Field were both planned and approved at the same time. The city was planning for these stadiums for some time. Qwest Field cost $460 million with $160 million from owner Paul Allen. Safeco Field cost over $500 million mostly funded by the city and the people. Both are still being paid for and add in the upgrades ($75 million) made on the Key Arena in 95 that are still being paid for. It's only common sense that another $500 million dollar stadium wasn't going to be approved in less then a year of planning for it. I'm not in Seattle and haven't been for a month, but I imagine it's gotta be a little depressing in Seattle. It's more sad to see some Seattle fans make posts like "This is a great day for Seattle." I saw someone post that and it pissed me off.

Thanks for your class OKCJohn. You said all along that Seattle leaders weren't doing a good job in this matter and you were absolutely right. I hope you and the other people in Oklahoma enjoy your team.
It's more sad to see some Seattle fans make posts like "This is a great day for Seattle." I saw someone post that and it pissed me off. Yes, i was reading through some soundoffs on the Seattle PI website and it angered me to see some of the ignorance of some people towards the Sonics fans. I don't expect them to all care about sports but some of those idiots really angered me with their attitudes. Oh well, i geuss there's idiots like that in every city.

No worries. You most likely won't see me here again, nor as a fan of the NBA. I can't change how I feel about this situation because it was wrong and the blame has to be put on more than one person.
I am the same as Wazzu on my feelings about the "shared history," Clay is joking right? He's making a duplicate trophy and duplicate banners? He is an arrogant piece of work. Please fight that. You guy's had nothing to do with that stuff. For classiness sake, fight that. We loved our Sonics and fought harder then any fan base in Pro Sports history(besides the Browns) to keep them.
Don't screw us anymore.

I couldn't agree with you more, U Double U. He shouldn't claim in OKC that his franchise won an NBA title. He didn't do jack-sh#% for that title back in'79. That was the work of Seattle. He'll never win a title as an owner there cuz in about 10 years, they probably won't be there anyways. Hang in there Seattle!!!!!!!!! You've got a Rockets fan here on your side.
