I believe, Teddy, that WVU was not known for passing because White has a weak arm and quick legs.  The offense adapted to his strengths, of which passing is not one.  Hopefully RR will be running a little more balanced on an offense with his new recruits.

Wow, Mgoblue...rarely am I in a position where I have nothing else to add b/c it's already all there.  But I currently sit in that position.  Congrats.

Rich might be able to adapt his offense, but still the vast amount of inexperience (1 returning starter) on offense means he has his work cut out for him in a salty way.

Thanks for the compliment, Teddy.

At least last year's injuries allowed some of the backups to gain some experience.  The defense should be excellent and should keep us in most games, and by the end of the season the offense should start to click (basically the converse of last year).

The funny thing is that even though we lost the big 4 (Hart, Henne, Long and Manningham), Henne and Hart were playing injured all last year (when they played at all).  Hart was very dependable throughout his career, and Manningham could be remarkable at times, but it seems like we replace "irreplaceable" RBs and WRs every year or two without missing a beat.  There will be some growing pains, but I am not nearly as pessimistic as most.

For once it would be nice to outperform people's expectations.

Also, did you see that, despite all of the hand-wringing and worries, the home jerseys are quite traditional?

The more I read about Rodriguez, the more I hear things like "he's the type of playcaller who will adapt to his roster" or "Shaun King wasn't known as a passer until Rodriguez showed up."

Still, the mass recruiting of QBs has me wondering if he really thinks he can win with this roster.  The D will be probably one of the best in the nation.  A weak conference should give us a few more wins than maybe we should have.  Beating Utah is important.

As for the unis, the home ones look the same.  I don't like adidas crap though.  Nike shoes always worked better for me playing basketball.  Hated adidas stuff with a passion footwear wise.

The road ones really aren't that much different from last years.  He rectified the #1 jersey situation, that's what I really cared about when it came to unis.

Just to clarify steveb, we are talking about alumni, meaning people who attended the university and graduated from that university.  OSU may have more people that attended, but last I heard Michigan has the most living alumni.  The link that you provided simply says that they aspire to be the biggest and the best, but it does not indicate that such a goal has been achieved.  I also note that OSU has narrowed their goal to being the largest "dues-paying" alumni group, which might make the goal more achievable.

I think that he is capable of molding the offense to his players, but that doesn't mean that doesn't have an "ideal" system in mind.  Hopefully he has a better-than-expected first year, but even so, I want him to recruit the players that he thnks are mostly likely to excel within his program.

He ought to be able to develop a passing game for a more balanced attack, MGo. His offenses before WVU all had pass heavy attacks. if anything, I believe that WVU allowed him to learn how to run the ball.

Neither Rasheed Marshal or Pat White were/ are known for their ability to throw the harder throws in the game.

When WVU had Chris Henry, they threw the ball at least en
