Thanks to Percy for making me think about this but what has gotten into everyone that we feel the need to defend our rival for our SOS? I mean I see Rcooke and VOls going at conference fights all day with many others doing the same, why do we do it? Is it insecure teams need to feel better by saying, oh we suck because our SOS is so hard or is it because the BCS tries to feed us this crap that our SOS has to be good when teams like this years OSU made it in with a pretty weak sos? No offense. I'm going back to the way it is supposed to be like Percy, screw you UGA I hope ASU creams you guys. Thoughts?

thank the non-existant college football god, there is a SEC team fan with a brain, and supports a team, not a confrence.

like ive said before, im a bucks fan first, michigan hater second, big 10 fan third. i would root for the big 10 teams in bowl games, against USC, and against most SEC teams. but i dont try to argue that the big 10 is better, or that the SEC is worse, because confrences change places. big 12 used to be the powerhouse, now it has become more of a less than spactacular confrence. without vince young the big 12 would...be lost. OU is making a comeback, TT, has a great passing game, im not sold on mizzou though, kansas too. the confrence is very even though, only one bad team, iowa st.

anyhow, confrences wont stay at the top forever. every confrence has a power team, or teams. but all that matters is, im an ohio state fan, and i dont want them to lose, or have a chance to lose. to me, when the season starts, the big 10 as a confrence can shove it, the bucks are comin through.

so yeah, im rambling. but its nice to see an sec team fan, and not just a sec fan.

go bucks

Cleveland,

Most of us are just like you. Our team first, hate our rival second, root for the conference third. I love my Gators, wish Tennessee would go 4-8 every year, and wished we went 100% OOC as a conference.

I root for my conference because what good is it to be 8-0 in-conference if everybody else can beat your opponents too? SOS has nothing to do with insecurity. It has everything to do with separating the men from the boys. So, for my team's sake, I want all of our opponents to be 11-1 if they could.

How did that end up for our Gators this year having that hard SOS? I rather have the entire conference suck and us be top dogs every year than for the conference to be great and us have years like this.

You may refer to it as organizational attatchment, or group sentimentality, or birds of a feather all flock together.  As a Florida fan, I may dislike Georgia, or Tennessee, or Auburn, but at the end of the day they are part of the SEC family.  Family members make each other stronger, you see them all the time, you take their advice, you compete with them, you learn from them.

Fans that ignore what CONFERENCE they're from, and only think of TEAM, are blinded from the fact that their conference raised their program in a sense.  A conference sets standards for its whole, its composition.  And if the individual members of that conference (family) go out, and find success in national competition, who's that success in a sense, attributed to?  You (your team) because you knew it all, and was just better?  Or your family (conference) for being tough on you?

We were the highest ranked 4 loss team in the country. Even higher than some 3 loss teams with weaker schedules. I think it worked out well.

I rather have the entire conference suck and us be top dogs every year
