Josh Smith -F- Hawks

 Jul. 2 - 9:08 am et

With more than $11 million in salary-cap space available, the 76ers contacted restricted free agent Josh Smith shortly after midnight on Tuesday and plan to meet with the Hawks star on Wednesday.

The Sixers also contacted Smith's teammate, 6-8 forward Josh Childress, yesterday and expect to bring him to Philadelphia, but did not say when. The Hawks have rights of first refusal on both players, but it's unknown how much they'll be willing to spend to keep both in Atlanta, especially with Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby already commanding huge salaries.

what do you guys think about these 2? i wouldnt mind any of them. maybe we can get both but i doubt it.

Please tell me why they would want childress, they have enough SF already as Igudola will be playing out of position at guard.  now smith is another story get him in a NY minute.  will than have to trade dalembert and somebody with some bulk as they would be athletic enough in frontcourt but get pushed around.

they have enough SFWell I'm pretty sure Childress can play both the SG and the SF positions and he is definitely an upgrade over Wille at shooting guard, so I say why not if we can get him cheap.
trade dalembert That would be a dream come true. The guy is nothing more than a bench player imo and his huge salary along with his up and down play is really weighing down this team and he needs to go. Get  rid of him and Green and I would be one happy person.

Igg is a better 2 guard then Childress, the Sixers are only using Childress into scaring the Hawks they won't sine Childress regardless

childress and Josh Smith would help your team alot. both somewhat young guys going to one of the youngest teams n the nba!!! you should be looking for a vet pf tho, you drafted a decent pf but other than him you dont have much...and he really should start. Also maybe look for a decent pg to backup Andre Miller i dont think miller will last much longer hes getting old. maybe just draft a pg next year... but say you guys get okafor and j.smith you'll have a heck of a team!!

good luck
