I will not forgive Terry Porter, and Dodd has no right to tell me otherwise. I am a disgruntled Miami fan, and I will never forget that unwarranted flag. Why did he even have to bring up such an incidence? No reason to make the outrage return...
Ah well, we've got a great future ahead of us, as well as a great past. Go Canes!

Not to rub salt in that wound, but an Official's magazine ranked that as one of their top-20 good calls of all time. They gave Porter major props. But truthfully, if I were in your shoes, I'd still be ticked off by it too. See you in 2010.

It's been reviewed that the official saw a defensive hold on Sharpe, called it in, and it was reported as pass interference. The result of either of these penalties results in the same thing, first and goal at the one for Ohio State.
Some people think no fouls were committed before the ball hit off Gamble's hands, but while the ball is in the air and live, his facemask is held.

Let's not start this again.
Miami fans and Ohio State fans will never agree on this, so let's not start. For us we will forever have been robbed. For you guys, the just call was made. It was a bang-bang play that could have been called either way and had one side upset.
I may not like it, but I've accepted that we weren't the better team on that day.

I'm sick to death of armchair quarterbacks or managers crying over calls. If you don't like the job the officials do then man up and go out on the field and see if you can do better. Besides, if a call the official made cost you the game you didn't do your job as a team earlier.

"Besides, if a call the official made cost you the game you didn't do your job as a team earlier. "
I would agree with that in most instances. But if the call made in the Miami-OSU game was incorrect, the above doesn't apply. If the official made the wrong call, he extended the game after Miami thought it was over. If he doesn't extend the game, the 'Canes win. Thus, your premise doesn't fit here.
I don't really know (or care) whether the right call was made. My problem was that the official waited so long to throw the flag. The 'Canes had already removed their helmets and were celebrating before the flag came out. Even if he ended up making the right call, the official is still at fault for faltering on his decision. His job is to throw the flag if he sees a violation, not wait several seconds to "think about it."

If your sore about that call, then I'm sore about the holding call against the Miami DB that wasn't called, but blantantly done on third down, resulting in a fourth down punt returned by Roscoe Parrish leading to the tying field goal that sent the game into overtime to begin with. There were bad calls/nocalls that entire game for both sides, in the end OSU won and of course in my mind, (mind you I am Biased, I graduated from OSU) rightly so.
