The 3 tests I am talking about are 3 series before the break.
1st series vs. Minny - Lost 2 of 3, totaly crushed the last game. Horrible. 1 more shutout
2nd series vs. Clev
3rd series vs. Minny
I said all along that I am reserving my "Tigers are back and in contention" until I saw what they did in their division. They have now failed the 1st of the 3 tests. If Chicago wins, they fall 7 games back. They were supposed to be gaining ground in the division with this series, not losing it.
They are absolutely terrible in their division. They have no hope of making the post season, if they can't win divisional games.
They should sweep the 2 games against Cleveland and they better take 3 of 4 from Minny. Anything less and all they do is go backwards.
Should they lose the next series versus Minny, I will say right now that they are done. I will gladly eat crow should they somehow turn it around, but I will highly doubt it.
You can give me all the stats in the world, but the only stat I care about right now is the division record.
