Before we start, are there are any guidelines we should follow when ranking teams, or is this left up to us?

For example, I think it is bull to rank a team high just because I think they can beat everyone on their schedule. I personally think we should rank teams based on how good we think they are compared to others.

I'm not saying someone is wrong for doing the former, I just want to know if we are supposed to only consider certain things, or is it left up to us to decide?

Awesome Greek.  Count me IN!  Sorry I took so long.  I was gawking at Slaton's new avatar.  Damn Slaton, have you got movie booms/cranes to take high angle shots of her now?

Will have mine to you this weekend Greek.  And now for the third cult movie quote of the thread:

Nice boy, lovely boy. . . . . . Now I know why tigers eat their young.

Hey, two ideas quick.

One, Greek, why don't you post the results in your blog each week and we'll all try to get it some attention and then it will hopefully get on the front of the community page and increase it's exposure.

Secondly, would you like me to write a small computer program that will help with tabulating the votes?

It would be easier than adding them all up by hand. If everyone could just have a file with all the team names ranked from 1-25 in a certain format (nothing too strict), then you could just feed the files to the program and it will add up all the points for the teams and spit it out.

It would probably save you a lot of time and headache.

Well Greek, it sounds like fun. If you need someone and it's not too late, I would be interested.

I am too new at this so I will not be asking to be added to the pollsters . I would be interested to know though if you have any west coasters on your "poll" team yet? I mean lets face it, those of us on west coast time can actually stay up to watch games from east to west.

I will be watching for ya'lls rankings weekly and more than happy to join Rampage in bashing your posts. I think it is nearly impossible to be unbiased in giving ratings though because no matter how much someone wants or claims to be objective, if you have a home team you follow, you subconscientiously (if I spelled that right it would be a miracle) have a bias.

It's a great idea and I applaude Greek for coming up with this. Please get some old timers here to represent teams/conferences from coast to coast so it ends up better than the usual polls.

Good stuff though and looking forward to it.

I even learned an new trick today. Someone had more cahones than I did to ask about the blue boxed quote thing.
