Diop is back!!

I think its great we got Diop back but , for 5 years $31 million. Thats alot of money for a guy that cant make a shot outside of 2 feet. I think he definitely helps us on the defensive end for sure but at the same time on offense the other team can lag off of him more then they already did Dampier this past season. I wanted him back but not at the cost of our full midlevel exception.

I thought they would split the mid-level between two solid players to help bolster the roster. We draft Shan Foster, sign Gerald Green, and probably resign Devean George, and maybe Antoine Wright and Jose Juan Barea but lets be real. We still need a legitimate backup pg that can facilitate the offense with little to no drop off when Jason Kidd isnt in the game. If you can honestly say Barea is that guy your crazy and Jason Terry is a score first combo type of guard. And the guys mentioned above Dan Dickau and Keith McLeod are reserves at best (meaning the guys on the team that are dressed in suits everynight).

There are still descent options on the market for a backup pg but according to this article and our cap space were done in free agency. If Cuban does find some way to make another move via free agency I think we should definitely try to go after Chris Duhon although he might be asking too much and if not him then Shaun Livingston who said before he was drafted that Jason Kidd was one of the guys he looked up to growing up. I know he has suffered with injuries but just like Gerald Green he has something prove. Maybe we can sign him for 1 year for cheap just like we did Green and if it works out good, if not then its of little loss to the team. But if he works out after a year of learning the game from Kidd with his amazing talent and upside we once again have our pg of the future. Him and Green in the backcourt coming off the bench could be special.

This deal doesn't mean shiit. Diop is a good person but he plays like he's 37 yrs. old. Where are all the trades and free agency pick-ups? This franchise blows if it goes thru free agency period without any moves done.

Hard to mention Gerald Green when no one knows who this guy is. Thanks for making Avery Johnson the Goat...don't worry Donnie, you're the next to get ghost.

Bout time man, I love Diop... Not that great at offense but he was a hell of a defender.  Helped out alot and with him and the way Damp played toward the end of last year thats a pretty good defensive combo.. And i really like Green, i was wanting to pick him up when Houston dropped him.. He isn't scared to drive and throw it down.. Which seems to be the problem every Maverick has, no one can dunk the ball.. Watch for the Kidd to Green combo this season, he can get some major air and thats what Kidd does good throwing that alley.. But we will be alright this season i like Shan Foster good draft choice, shoots the J and the 3 well. Im excited about this season we had a bad year last year we will get through it.
